Ben Stokes Dismisal; out or not?

For me this is OUT. I have no doubt what stokes did was a reflex action, but that does not excuse him performing an illegal action. If a batsman's reflex is to play a shot but he nicks the ball and he is caught then he is out also even if it was only a reflex. Sure it is unfortunate, and quite rare but it is much like any other skill in the art of batting!

I find it very odd that its expecting in the game of cricket for the opposition team to show mercy to their opponents .....

It would be like in football to allow a player another shot at a penalty if he skied it over the cross bar .....

Out. Not sure how you could argue otherwise.

Ben Stokes shouldn't even be in the ODI side considering his horrible record.

One of the young Currans can be selected this afternoon and come out with better looking allround stats than he has mustered in 32 attempts

I think technically out, but I would have liked to see him called back. I always like to see players called back in ambiguous situations. Although the stats side of me does like to see obscure dismissals.
