India in control vs NZ, while Nepal is thrashing Ireland. Means a BD vs Nepal quarterfinal is all but set in stone. Afghans whooping SL too means 2 associates could very well be in the quarters.

So, Nepal would effectively be the first team through to the next round. Great effort. ICC wants less teams in world cups. What more do they need to get convinced? Would love to see Nepal top the group beating even India, but might not happen. So, if ever Zim cricket folds up, Nepal is the underdog I'll root for.

Their bowler also got the first hat-trick of the tournament.

Horrible start from BD against Scotland of all sides. 19-2 from the first 10 overs. Cant see much more than 200 at best.

Yet another u19 choke by BD. That said we at least avoided the blushes, but we also played some really weak sides to get up the semis. This side does not have much talent, from what I can see. Dont see many of this squad making it to the BD senior team except maybe the two Mehedy's and possible Saifuddin with his yorkers on demand. But this the first side with not a single player guaranteed to make the senior team.

BD nearly fluffs 3rd place to another team we have dominated over the years, Sri Lanka. Windies were swept 3-0 by BD just 4 weeks ago and now those boys are all over India in the final.

But look at the final...the Windies kids really do mean business in tge field. Who ever heard of an express 150k bowler getting a stumping? Well here it is:

0.4 Joseph to Pant, OUT, Pant tightens his technique outside off. Left alone. Oh, what do we have here? From tight to loose, in a matter of a couple of seconds. Great awareness from the WI keeper. Pant stretched forward, and drifted out of the crease after offering no stroke. Imlach grabs it and hits the stumps with an under-arm flick. 'Reverse mankading' as Vishal puts it. Full marks to the keeper. Sharp work

RR Pant st †Imlach b Joseph 1 (4m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

Guess the Windies will look back at the mankad and have even less regrets now, even from my point of view I guess it was worth the shame they copped for the incident ......
