Afghanistan V Ireland series in India

Post by CrimsonAvenger » Wed Mar 08, 2017 5:44 am

Its being telecast live by the Indian national broadcaster Doordarshan: https://twitter.com/ddsportschannel/sta ... 1079757824

Folks interested outside might find dodgy streams as usual. Should be an interesting series.

It could be a tight series, 3-2 either way. But I hope the Afghans win it 4-1 or better. Unlikely though as Ireland warmed up well in the UAE and Afghanistan's batting stinks. Still these are familiar conditions for the Afghans.

Should be a cracking series.

Oh they started with the garbage cricket first. Wake me up when the ODIs start!

Ireland thrashed again. But lets see what happens in the ODIs...my guess is the games will be much closer given Afghanistan get worse the longer they have to bat while the Irish get stronger the longer the format.

Mohammad Nabi just played a blinder. 89 off 29 with 9 HUGE sixes. This McCarthy guy went for 69 off 4. 69! 69 is expensive even in ODIs

Might be just the confidence boost Afghans need to obliterate the Irish in the ODI series and IC Cup match. They drew 2-2 in Ireland last summer with one game washed out I believe.

Afghans 1-0 up in a close first ODI.

Boys posted 292...first time I can remember they didn't have a batting collapse (did experience a bit of a hiccup tho).

338 for Afghanistan today, their highest-ever ODI total. And wasn't Stirling an off-spinner? It was interesting to see him bowl legbreaks today, he got considerable turn and bounce. His figures are now the best by an Irish bowler in ODIs.
