How does PAK get into tier 1?

Minus Misbah and Younis they will struggle like the current SL team. OK not that badly, but still.
If you can take 20 wickets home and away you will ALWAYS be top tier.

Secondly if you can pick two different sets of 4 bowlers in your XIs, and still retain the ability to take 20 wickets then you are top tier. Pakistan have done that several times, far more than any other team (bans; injuries, suspensions, dropped-loss of form).

The current ENG-SA Series has got porous batting orders (Ballance, Jennings, Westley, Malan vs Kuhn, Duminy, de Bruyn), just like most Test sides. Bowling is what has kept the Series world class. SA batting also struggled in NZ and AUS recently, as would ZIM/BD bu bowling came through.

Only IND (and BD) have a settled Test batting order right now, with AUS almost there. Bowling will decide a lot of matches for a very long time to come.

When SL toured ZIM last year, they won and dominated because ZIM simply couldn't take their wickets.

All those 12 sides are in the same bracket because of that.
NZ are ranked ahead of Pakistan who have lost 6 consecutive away Tests and even lost to the WI in the UAE. Further, India has only taken 20 wickets once in the past year. Thus they too deserve to be in tier 2 based simply on a 20 wicket criteria.

Overall, only 4 teams belong in a supposed top tier: Aus, Eng, Ind, and SA. Even then most of them struggle overseas with the possible excpetion of SA.

India 487 (at 4 runs per over)
Sri Lanka 135 & 181

3-0 whitewash! They're junk! All done and dusted within 3 days...without Jadeja...and Ashwin bowling just 36 overs! Yadav and Shami a combined 38 overs. Kuldeep and Pandya a combined 37 overs.

Streak and Cremer let Williams bowl 67 overs to them, while Raza was given 31 overs at them.

Plus Cremer himself bowled 90 "heroic" overs at them. To think head coach Heath Streak is a multiple Zim Test captain and 65 Test veteran too.

This India A side which is also getting a thorough hiding from Phehlukwayo and company, would have thumped this Sri Lanka. Why did the BCCI waste Kohli and Ashwin's time? Should have just spared their A side the pain in SA and sent them to have fun in Sri Lanka.

In fact I think these Zimbabwean teenagers that sparred against Sri Lanka's heavyweights back then would have beaten this Sri Lanka side. At least they had a proper bowling attack, not Streak and Cremer's pie-chuckers.

In SC conditions India are a powerhouse and have always been. Can this team take 20 wickets overseas remains to be seen.

SL have probably never been hammered this badly at home...not even in the 1980s probably.

It's clear in this post that Hhm has no regard for the well being of Zimbabwe cricket he only cares for the black players. No one on this forum claimed this to be a good Sri Lankan side it's very clear they are rebuilding, but an ODI series win overseas against a Test playing nation in a Country where we haven't won a single match before is a great achievement for a side who had just lost an ODI to Scotland.

But Hhm has continued to try and downplay the achievement and rubbish all the white guys, you will bash Williams, Ervine, Streak and Cremer at any opportunity its so obvious you have an agenda.

I wonder how you would have reacted if Mongongo was coach and Vusi was captain? Much different tune I would expect.

I can state with absolute certainty that Mangongo and Vusi would never have been this stupid!

Remember when Mangongo came in he stated explicitly that he wanted to stop this use of fake or bit-part bowlers/batsmen. No way he would have used Raza, Williams and Malcolm. No way! Do you honestly think Mangongo would have been dumb enough to allow a situation where Chakabva opens the batting and keeps? In fact, he wouldn't have opened the batting with Chakabva. Period!

Vusi has captained the A/XI team and Rhinos far more than Taylor or Cremer. In fact, out of Utseya, Elton, Hami, Cremer and Taylor, Vusi was ZImbabwe's most experienced captain. And he always led form the front with the bat. It's actually a mystery why he was never made national team captain, but once again I explained it - Ndebele vs Shona thing. Otherwise, all things being equal, Vusi should have been the captain at least at some point since 2003.

This same Sri Lanka bullied Zimbabwe badly in Zimbabwe, and again, even there Zimbabwe had assembled a stupid attack.

The question remains, no matter how bad this SL side is - "how on earth were they poorer at home against a Zimbabwe side they had just bullied in Zimbabwe just a few months back". Yes, SL did beat Zim, but it's how they did that raises a lot of questions. They had junk bowling at them in SL. It was an Only Test, and there are plenty questions. This same team had hammered Australia remember.

Sri Lanka beat Australia by 163 runs in the same Colombo ground. Besdies their batting stars Warner and Smith, they had Starc, Hazlewood and Lyon, but were beaten 3-0 - lost by 106 runs, 229 runs and 163 runs respectively. To the very same Sri Lankan players. Sure SL lost the ODI Series vs AUS 4-1, but still.

Even ZIM's attack in the ODIs was non-existent. DL had made the impossible possible. But in a decider, how did SL score just 203 in 50 overs. A game in which Williams, Raza and Malcolm bowled 25 overs!!! Reports of the pitch were rubbished, and Zimbabwe confirmed it by scoring those runs in just 38 overs. How did SL leave over 100 runs on that pitch, in such a crunch game?

As a Bangladeshi if such a Series had happened to Bangladesh in Bangladesh, what would you think or say?

I'd be livid. But I'd be livid if we lost to India the way SL just did. The only thing that SL competed in with india was the coin toss and I think that was 3-0 to India too.

And I'll be livid if we lose without putting up a [serious] fight to he Ozzies.

Here is a link to the bowling stats of the Tri Series involving South Africa, Australia & Zimbabwe in 2014

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/zimbabwe- ... tournament

Shows that under Mangongo Williams and Waller bowled 58 overs during that series ( out of a possible 70 )

Although he didn't keep here is the scorecard of the 2nd test against Bangladesh in 2013 where under Mangongo Regis was opening the batting

Im sorry Hhm but your memory is failing you :D
