Momin falls for 77...the highest BD score in SA.

Still 70 runs needed to avoid the follow on.

Debating whether I should watch the final day's play or not.

Bangladesh have been extremely hopeless on this tour.

If it wasn't for the poor 1st innings fielding in the Proteas' catching this match would have ended yesterday with BD having posted nowhere near 300 runs. The pitch was so good for batting too.

Shakib deliberately avoided this tour for obvious reasons.

NB: A Bangladesh attack of Mustafizur, Taskin and Mehidy can;t even take more than 9 SA wickets for over 700 runs, how on earth can Streak's silly attacks manage 6 wickets?

It was a pretty horrific performance. To collapse from 292 for 5 and 49 for 2 means that we lost 13 wickets 69 runs in that phase.

The sad part is there wer no demons on this wicket and SA were missing their 3 lead quicks. Bloemfontain will likely be a more sporting surface.

The silver lining hopefully is us finally getting rid of useless playyers like Imrul, Mahmud, Sabbir and some others.

It's hard to make a traditionally flat pitch seamer friendly. Faf asked, and the groundsmen tried at Potch but failed. It will probably be the same in Bloem.

Even a bit of rain didn't help BD force a draw. :D

This Test proved just how far behind BD still are. I don't think BD would survive against an attack of Panyangara, Shingi, Chatara and Wellington in ZIM.

Hoem and away, BD are still behind a full-strength and motivated WI, SL and PAK in Tests. I think the only team that BD can confidently beat at home, besides ZIM, is NZ. Even AFG might surprise BD on your pitches.

Away I think it's clear BD would be 2nd favourites in a Test even in IRE, ZIM and SCO.

What people will realise is that ZIM have more player depth than BD. Take away BD's top 4 players - Shakib, Mushy, Tamim and Monimul, they are nothing. Take away Mustafizur and Mehedi, and they are hopeless. Tomorrow ZIM can drop Sean, Craig, Raza and Cremer, then pick this team, they'll beat BD in ZIM:

Chari
Kasuza
Hami
Vusi(c)
Chakabva(wk)
Elton
Chibhabha
Shingi
Panyangara
Chatara
Wellington

Even after Taibu retired they carried on. Taylor, Craig, Jarvis left, plus Cremer retired/left and ZIM still did well and could afford to drop Sean Williams. Bangladesh simply cannot do that and still be relevant.

OK, how does this add up? We want BD drop 6 of their best, and we drop 4 of our worst (according to you), thereby strengthening our lineup and win against them? What is the point of that anyway?

Surely the forum moderators should have some rules about people just writing ABSOLUTE RUBBISH here and getting away with it.

How did Zimbabwe “afford to drop Williams” they got white washed 8-0 only time ever Zimbabwe has failed to win a single game on tour to Bangladesh.

I think pariah has got his medicine bottles mixed up, lol.

BD would trounce Afghanistan anywhere for two simple reasons. First, the Afghans can't bat. They have played a lot of matches recently and haven't put on a single big total. Secondly, the Afghans, ever since the World T20 debacle in 2014 have come out too hard against us, especially with the bat. They would likely tone it down a bit in a longer version game, but I don't think they have the quality yet to really challenge. As many problems as Rashid Khan and Nabi would pose, our SLAs + Fizz would see that, and raise.

Ireland are in shambles at the moment. If they bowl us out for 250 on a greentop in Dublin, we'd bowl them out for 100.

With Jarvis and Taylor back and Chatara fit, a series in ZIM would be very interesting. But with our experience and batting ability you'd have to say 2-1 to BD if all 3 games are played in Harare or 3-0 if in Bulawayo. Before Taylor and Jarvis came back, I'd have said 3-0 anywhere.
