But even a player like Stian Van Zyl, Rassouw etc had completely inferior stats

No doubt, but they’re not quota players. Zimbo_05 suggested it was the quota system which had disadvantaged Malan

I don't get what the fuss about Aiden Markram is, he always seems to struggle against quality attacks. Malan looks like a much better option. Markram needs to go and score lots of runs domestically.

Markram is an absolute gun. He scored a test century against the Aussies two years ago in that very heated series. He's got the goods, but has hit a major dip in form
