Was excited to hear Shoaib Akhtar was playing in the Asia cup and think him not playing is the biggest disappointment in cricket in the last Decade cos he was aa reall mean bowler and judging by the commentary of the game he is still very fast bowling around and above 143km/h and a slow ball of 123Km! Was surprised to hear him say that one of his regrets was never bowling to Lara in a test!!!

Ya you're not the only one mate. I used to love whatching this guy bowl, ot just because he could bowl it at 90-95Mph, but his agresion and chat to the batter. Whenever he bowled something was happening. Whether it was runs, wickets or just sheer pace. Most of the time Sheer pace
Hope he makes a come back, he and Mohammed AAmir could be a lethal new ball pairing in the ODI Side.

With Asif when in form is also a wicked Bowler, Pakistan just has a wealth of bowlers my all time favourite being Waqar Younis who swung Lara out in the most amazing way.

Had the privilege to watch Waqar and Wasim Akram opening at HSC in 92 and we remember seeing the wicket keeper goin too far from the stumps and still taking the ball at chest height after the ball bounced in the centre of the pitch! Thats when Andy flower was hit on the head by a bouncer not sure from which guy and he retired hurt then came back to bat later.

Those guys were absolutely rapid. I never had the pleasure of watching either of them bowl, but all you needed to do was look at the speed gun, it told it's own story
