Zimbabweans' progress in ICL season 2

Post by CrimsonAvenger »

ICL season 2 is underway, and the only team having Zimbabwean connection this season again, is Ahmedabad Rockets, with both Heath Streak and Murray Goodwin playing for them. The progress so far is not great for the team, though, as they have lost both their matches.

Heath Streak was the top wicket taker in match-1 against Delhi Giants, with 3/23; but failed in both matches to make significant contributions with the bat, after being promoted up the order.

Murray Goodwin's horrific ICL form continues, as he too has failed in both his knocks. But he was a live wire in the field yesterday, affecting 2 run outs with splendid fielding efforts.

Better form for Murray in today's match, with Ahmedabad Rockets beating Royal Bengal Tigers by 10 wickets, with Goodwin contributing 61 of the 137 runs required - his highest ICL score so far (Ryan Campbell scored the other 66). Heath Streak's batting service weren't required, but he took 1/16 from his 3 overs. Rockets are now 5th in the ICL table, but have played one more match than any other side.

Ahmedabad Rockets' indifferent form continues in ICL, and so does Goodwin's and Streak's. Another Zim-related update here is that Graeme Hick has joined ICL and will be playing for the controversy marred Chandigarh Lions team.

Damn, I was hoping he'd join the IPL.

With ICL, he will just fade away into obscurity :(

Murray Goodwin got chance in the ICL World Series for ICL World 11.ICL 20s World serieswhich consists of 4 teams featuring ICL India,ICL Pakistan,ICL Bangladesh and ICL World.A good achievement by Murray Goodwin. But Heath Streak hasnt got any chance as he was a bit expensive in ICL 20-20 Indian championship.Murray Goodwins fielding was fantstic and one of the best throughout the ICL season 2.He doesnt look like a 35 year old but looks like a only 24 year old.His was also in a superb form in the ICL World series and he scored 52 of 31 bowls hitting 8 boundaries and a six and it was his 5th ICL fifty. He made a 90 runs opening partnership with Damien Martyn in this match.
