England in India

Post by maehara »

Mumbai Cricket Association XI (222/7) beat England XI (98) by 124 runs. Pietersen: "This really doesn't matter." ::snigger::

Waingankar took 5/37 in what was apparently only his 2nd first-class outing. Insert comments about the dismal future of English cricket here.

Seriously, though, this is a very poor start to England's tour, and with Australia having just come unstuck against India, I can't see England fairing much better...

PREVIEW of ENG-IND Series

After lossing the test series against South Africa Micheal Vaughan left the captaincy,in the same day Paul Collingwood also left the ODI captaincy to concentrate more on his batting and fielding and Collingwood also said that captaincy is creating effect in his batting and fielding. So,ECB named Kevin Pietersen the new captain for all forms of international cricket.

Pietersen started his first innings after being a captain making a century and England also went to win the 4th and final test against South Africa.Kevin Pietersen made a fantastic ODI captaincy debute by winning the ODI series against South Africa by 4-0.

Kevin Pietersen was praised by everybody and his next assignment was the series against India who had just beaten Australia by 2-0 in 4 match test series.

England lost the ODI series against India by 5-0 and the last two matches were cancelled for the hazardous terror attack in Mumbai.Kevin Pietersen said that,'
We are playing cricket with a nation who plays the cricket of different planet'.

Guys like Andrew Flintoff,Kevin Pietersen told the reason of losing was not having the experience of playing in the IPL and they also told about their intention to play in the IPL season 2.Indeed,India is becoming better and better after playing in the IPL.

After leaving India,England came back again to play in the test series.England is playing well in the 1st test in Chennai.Especially Andrew Strauss is batting brilliantly,he scored 123 in the 1st innings. After the stumps of day 3,England has got a lead of 247 runs with 6 wickets remaining in the hands.Strauss is in the wicket scoring 73* and Paul Collingwood is also with him 60*.

1st Test prediction: I think India are going to win this, Gambhir and Sehwag have given them a good enough start that, barring an embarrassing collapse, they should be able to chase the target. England may regret declaring and not just playing for the draw, although full marks to them for taking the aggressive approach...

Brilliant prediction,Maehara!!!Yes,England played for win and they were right so as the history speaks. But 387 has become the 4th highest chased score in the 4th innings which India made in this match. But India is now in full form and they r becoming unbeatable after they hv entered into the Twenty-20 cricket and IPL has done a lot of good to them too.Sehwag is really one of the rare batsmen of the world who can change the gear of the match, his 83 of just 68 delivaries in this test match has made the base of winning of India.Tendulkers 103* is one of his best centuries of his career and his 1st one in the 4th innings where he has carried his team home. And Dhoni,he has really changed the look of Indian team.Winning the Twenty-20 world cup in his first assignment, beating Australia by 2-0 though Anil Kumble was the captain, but the 2 win came when he was captaining the side.Infact,he has won first 4 test matches which he captained India.Well, his eyes now will be in a record which was made by Englands fomer captain Percy Chapman winning the first 9 test matches which he captained England test side.Incredable record!!!
