The only name I know of is Taskin Ahmed, who has already been mentioned. He's had a lot of injury issues, and from the little I've seen of him he's got an excellent bowling action - in fact the prettiest I've ever seen. He's also pretty aggressive. His pace is solid, most guesses are in the 135-140 range, and he seems to move the ball well off the deck. Doesn't seem to have much swing, however. I would probably already rate him as the best first class quick in Bangladesh, ahead of seniors like Rubel Hossain, et al - which isn't saying much but still...

Taskin will probably debut at some point this year - at least I hope so. He may get a look in as early as our next int'l assigment - the home ODI series against India in June.

Abu Jayed has done surprisingly well this season domestically, but not much is known about him.

Well Taskin debuted earlier than I thought he would against Australia in the final group game of the WT20 today. 4 overs 1-24 against Warner and Finch, both of whom were beaten quite a few times in his first 2 overs. Take away his 3rd over which went for 14, and he took 1-10 off 3. Gorgeous bowling action, got a bit of movement and was bowling quicker than I had expected, consistently around the 140 mark, topping out at 143 (Starc and Coulter-Niles were topping out around 145). And still 3 days shy of his 19th birthday.

Excellent prospect, reminscent of Mashrafe who also debuted at the age of 18 way back in 2001.

Here's a video of his entire 4 over spell for those interested. Bangladeshis are quite excited about this prospective teenager!

Great prospect! But I hope, amidst all the excitement, that his workload will be managed well. Especially if he already had several injury problems.

just turned 18 years old and he bowled a delivery at 89Mph. That's seriously quick for his age. I really hope Bangladesh unearth a few more lads like this. They can't depend on those spinners forever.

Has a lovely strong action as well. I'm hoping he's a name we see lots of in the future
When in doubt, listen to Oasis chaps....

Taskin clocked a delivery in at 145.6 kph today. Didnt watch the 2nd innings but looks like he gave up too much width.

We need a quick match against SriLanka where we can bundle them out below 100 because:
16 is the number of times that Bangladesh have been bowled out for 100 or less in an ODI innings, more than any other team. Next highest on the list are Zimbabwe (12) and Sri Lanka (11).
In todays match, Bangla lost 7 wkts for 13 runs. The worst ever seven-wicket collapse in all ODIs is by Zimbabwe, when they collapsed from 124-3 to 127-all-out against Sri Lanka, in an innings where each batsman from No. 6 onwards scored a duck. :( :(

This thread had become mostly about Taskin's potential - once again got the big wicket(s), this time of Kohli. But here is the next 19 year old debutant quick, Mustafizur Rahman. Not as tall or as quick as Taskin, but is listed at 5'11" and bowls about 130-135 kph, which is fast enough with his off cutters. When this thread first began, I'd never heard of him, but he's really made a name for himself quickly.
