Apart from his lucrative County Contract is there anything stopping Sean Ervine playing for Ireland ????

You would think it would have crossed his mind since Craig seems pretty keen to do or is he just bluffing ???

Cricket Ireland are not too keen on him. AFAIK, they did contact him some years back, but Ervine refused to commit himself. And Phil Simmons is very particular about commitment to the Irish team. Look at how he is still punishing Niall O'Brien for skipping an Intercontinental Cup game against Kenya in favor of BPL, and how he didn't select Tim Murtagh immediately after he became unavailable and used him as a water boy in a couple of tournaments.

Wonder how we would've turned out if we'd had decent administrators and kept hold of Simmons while we had him...

I would think form is what is stopping him. Ervine peaked as a player in the red of Zimbabwe. Once he left, his form did too.

Well, he has had some big moments for Hampshire, but is terribly off the boil at the moment.

Maybe, but he is getting on now. What is in it for Ireland?

We can have him back if Hampshire ditch him.
