The West Indies test line up has categorically got better. In Shannon Gabriel, Roach and Holder they have a very dependable seam attack with some pace and diversity. I'm not sold on Cummins, who doesn't really seem to cut the mustard, but I really do like the look of Keemo Paul. Lovely action and bowls a heavy ball.

Batting wise they've unearthed a few little gems in the making. I think Brathwaite is a very good opening figure now, as his two hundreds attest. Shai Hope in the middle is one for the future, and Hetmyr is the flamboyant young lad on the block. I rate Blackwood as well, all the talent in the world that boy.

Then Dowrich has shown some much needed consistency with the bat and the gloves. Chase is another one, very solid batter and more than handy spinner.

The Windies have certainly improved. This team recently won Tests in England and the UAE...when was the last time the West Indies managed that?

However, they were made to look a lot better by the terrible show from Bangladesh. These were sporting wickets, but by no means impossible to score runs on. Then again Bangladesh failed just as badly on dead flat tracks in South Africa against their 3rd string attack. A prolonged funk, and they better sort it out quickly because the calendar is going to be nonstop for the next 4-5 years. Don't want a repeat of 2014, where we lost but were actually losing games we should have won. 2018 we've been getting annhilated.

Threw away a golden chance to sweep the ODI series 3-0. Still, could always be worse with BD.

Mashrafee really inspires the team like no one else. Shame he can't stick around till the 2023 WC...

Bangladesh have thrown away a lot of wins in the past few years, but the one a couple days ago really hurt. Not setting good habits. Quite a few ODIs scheduled over the next year, we've got to make them count.

Yeah, that was reminiscent of the massive brain fade they had against India in that T20 World Cup.

17 year old off spinner Nayeem Hasan is debuting today. Hope this kid does well, especially bowling in the 4th innings.

I think he might be the first Test player to be born in the 2000s...

Youngest player to debut for Bangladesh in several years.

No swing from the Windies quicks in Chittagong, but Jarvis, Chatara, and Jayed were getting considerable curves in Sylhet and Dhaka.

Decent carry from Gabriel, but he's also bowling at around 142 clicks consistntly.

Atrocious innings comes to an end for Imrul.

Some turn on offer already, but otherwise a pretty flat deck. Momin on 55 not out...hope he gets a double because he's come close a few times and failed. Such a class batsman...I expect him to score some runs on the 3-Test tour of NZ coming up given that he had a bit of a start in the last series. Still yet to score a century outside BD but only a matter of time. Hope he takes his average well past 45 at the end of this series, and ideally closer to 47.

We have squandered a position of great strength and now Windies have every chance of winning this game.

We had them at 88-5, but a brilliant counterattack from Hetmyer and solid batting from Dowrich took them close. Now we've only got 3 recognized batsmen left and the lead is only 130 odd. We need to set a target of at least 200.
