In fairness, this wouldn't be an awful excuse. Anyone likely to play in those games is badly in need of some match practice.

We already played our season. Rhinos were unbeaten and won the Logan Cup. Sir Graeme was leading run scorer and leading wicket taker.

Pro 50 One Day fixtures released, no signs of any fifth franchise or Zimbabwe Under 19s, who were expected to take part in the tournament.

Is it really necessary for the teams to be having 11-12 day breaks in between first class matches? The players must be bored out of their skulls waiting for the next match to come along.

I have really enjoyed this bumper domestic season so far. I feared I wouldn't be able to keep up with all the fixtures but so far that hasn't proven to be a problem.
