Possible tour of Ireland this summer???

Post by Kriterion_BD »

Read on either BC or Pakpassion that ZIM will be touring Ireland this summer. Wasn't there some talk of touring Scotland? Makes sense to have a tour to that part this summer because its the last chance before the WC Qualifiers in those exact conditions next year.

There might also be a tour of Afghanistan if I recall correctly...does anyone know anything more concrete about any of these tours?

I guess it would make sense to tour Ireland as well if we are going to be touring Scotland/Netherlands as well as the cricket academy in the UK. I don't know if it has been confirmed yet but I would love to see Burl Ngarava and Musakanda away from home for 3/4 months playing cricket every week with the academy and the national side. would be a good experience but I'm just concerned about how all this is being funded.

My understanding is that Taibu's academey will be in the UK playing 3 dayers vs county 2nds and that the Federacione del Criketo Mexicano will be funding 100% of the costs.

We should be playing Ireland more often! I really can't u derstand why we don't, we've had so many close matches I really can't think of any blow out matches .....

It all started with that amazing tied ODI match at the 07 WC, if you have a spare 45 minutes YouTube the highlights it wlreally was a tight match with momentum changing many times both sides really had their chances .....

Of course the 14 t20 WC match was another thriller as was the infamous 15 WC match with the controversial Mooney catch .....

Lesser known matches include the Ed Rainsford last ball 6 was one of the few thrillers Zim got away with, plus the 2015 1st ODI in Harare where Raza got us home in a tight struggle .....

As you can see Ireland and Zimbabwe have a history of tight matches especially at world cups and have built a rivalry we should play more ......

I heard ESPN over my wiretaps of Taibu's phone.
