They've got this new 20 year old coming through, whom everyone is raving about, can't wait to see him in action.

Colin de Grandhomme would be largely ineffective as a bowler outside of NZ or English conditions I think. His batting is ok, but he doesn't strike me as the most talented guy. Maybe a good T20 guy?

His bowling will come good in seaming conditions, but I'm not sure he has the technique to bat any higher than 8 in Tests.

102 off 71 now, and none of the hitting looked brutal too. Pure class and timing. This was the first time I properly watched him bat, and boy, what hand-eye co-ordination...

Cricinfo:
This century is the second-fastest by a New Zealander, behind McCullum's 54-ball blitz against Australia. It's also in the top ten fastest hundreds of all time.

Another talented player lost due to quota and Black Empowerment policy.

Then someone will say Kemar Roach is a better bowler than Panyangara.

Imagine what Panyangara would have done to the Black Caps in those conditions.

The old Roach lasted just a short while - a short moment. Panyangara has been Panyangara throughout. A world class test seamer.

Some will just refuse to accept that black empowerment has not worked. Not the way it should. They will also continue to spouse that for as long as they fail, it is not their fault, but the white mans from 50 years ago.

Colin de Grandhomme has been backed by New Zealand Selectors, despite failures as a result he is showing some improvement in every games, whereas Zimbabwe never backs a player, drops them affecting their confidence.

Unless you have examples to share(apart from the quintet of Mutziwa, Chisoro, Wellington, Jongwe and Madziva) the last country you can blame for that is ZIM to be honest.

But thy have been excellent for Zimbabwe.

Shingi too has been dropped several times but that has never affected his performance levels.
