[Match Thread] Logan Cup - Rising Stars v Mountaineers Nov 12 - 15
Re: [Match Thread] Logan Cup - Rising Stars v Mountaineers Nov 12 - 15
With Ngarava, Mashinge and Mavuta in the UAE, and Mumba still a fair way off full fitness, it does mean the Rising Stars are struggling for bowling depth.

Yeah, surely Ncube is covering the lack of bowling for the Stars. But that batting line up looks really scary, especially against the mighty Mountaineers bowling attack.
Zwira and Magarira will be on top of the moon today, great to have well established batsmen as your first FC wicket
Also, Masakadza and Byrom meet after all, at FC level this time. The fairy tale continues. Byrom playing a part in removal of Masakadza too...
Is Akram in Meth mould with some swing to work with? Seems to be a guy difficult to get away in whatever we have observed so far...

Shumba is still U19 eligible right? This could be great added experience for him.

Very good test this match for the Rising stars against a very experienced Mountaineers side. If they can beat them it will really turn some heads.

Are you referring back to that famous picture of them batting together in club cricket a few years ago?CrimsonAvenger wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2017 11:11 amYeah, surely Ncube is covering the lack of bowling for the Stars. Yes, it goes even further back. Hamilton was there to congratulate Byrom and other kids who made the Zim U13 side in 2009. I think Hamilton gave him the best batsman award back then. And yes, in 2012, they shared a century stand in club cricket. http://www.zimcricketforums.com/viewtop ... f=3&t=5234

As we expected Magarira takes to first class cricket like duck to water. These Rising Stars bowlers are making a big impression. Will be a scandal if they are unable to find franchise spots next season.

Chatara reminding Streak that he can do what Mpofu can do with the bat too
Magarira with a five for on debut!

the rising stars bowling line-up is probably the second best attack with the mountaineers being first. got a feeling they might retire a few older bowlers next season if they keep this up.
Tiripano really might be the best bet for number 8. I would actually prefer him ahead of Mire in the test team then we reshuffle the batting order. he can definitely offer more..
