Fair enough, I haven't followed his internal team relationships too closely.

Its easy to look up. After any big loss, he will usually always put the blame on the bowlers or some debutant saying something like "they weren't able to execute our plan" or "its impossible to set fields when they don't bowl the right lines". Rarely will he go after the batsmen.

The 17/18 Bangladesh National Cricket League has recently finished. It was a disjointed affair, affected by bad weather (probably the rains that were meant for the Aussie test series), the series in South Africa, the Bangladesh Cricket Board team in England, the Irish Wolves against Bangladesh A & then the BBl which necessitated a 2 month hiatus between the second last round & the last round. Khulna won again- 3rd time straight. Many internationals played in the last round.
Bangladesh continues to produce some young batting potential.
Mossadek Hossain returned to cricket in the last round with an unbeaten 50 & 35. Hopefully, his eye issues are over.
Yasir Ali, Saif Hassan, Shadman Islam, Mahedi Hasan (not the spinner), Nazmul Hossain Shanto & Robiul Islam Robi all had useful seasons but the highest rungetter was former test player Anamul Haque. The BCB President was vocal in support of Anamul before the South African tour &, after non-selection, he has responded in the best possible manner.
Not much new talent on the bowling front. Ebadat Hossain was always in the A team & Mohammad Saifuddin broke into the ODI & 20/20 team but no one really stood out.
It was disappointing leggie Jubair Hossain & Atif Hossain didn't feature much.
I don't see the BCL (the zonal Bangladesh Cricket League) being scheduled yet. This competition is stronger than the NCL & it would be an appropriate lead up to the Sri Lankan series at the end of January.

Sabbir could be in big trouble as he alleged assaulted a fan during the NCL last week.

We won't miss him if he is still playing as a top order batsman, but we will miss him as a lower order hitter.

First round of the BCL first class competition has started as preperation for the SL Test series. The final round of the NCL first class was played a couple of weeks ago. Highlights of the final round was Mosaddek with scores of 35 and 50*.

Mominul currently on 200 not out in the match vs Mosaddek's South Zone. Chief selector is at the ground and says the innings has been "brilliant". Mominul's first class average had falled to barely above 40.

Unfortunately, Mosaddek seems to have injured his non-batting shoulder while fielding. Hopefully he will be fit in time for the SL Tests. He played his first Test in SL back in March, but an eye infection kept him out of action during the Australia and South Africa series.

Mosaddek in parituclar seems to be an phenomenal player of spin bowling, although tends ot struggle against quality pace. Here's a clip of him from his debut handling Herath on a Colombo wicket with ease:

Must not have been a very serious injury, thank God. Musa is batting and is on 42 not out overnight.

The U-19s just got embarassed by England. Completely outclassed. They are going to get the thrashing of their lifetime vs India in the Quarters.

That being said, I just saw 18 yo Hasan Mahmud for the first time. He's 6 feet tall, possibly a bit taller and was bowling around the 132-135 mark but got one up to 139. Very similar build to Mustafiz, so could definitely use some time in the gym. With a WC in England coming up, we need seamers and Mahmud might just be the guy to replace Taskin who has not delivered on his promise.

Get rid of Taskin? Seriously?

No one was a bigger fan of his than I was.

But he has been given quite a few opportunities and disappointed. If you take out his debut ODI series, against a 2nd string Indian side, where he took 7 wickets for practically nothing he averages around 40 at well over 6 an over. Even including those games his numbers are at best mediocre. And thats being generous. In Tests he averages 97 at an econ of 4.5 rpo. I would be more willing to give him some leeway if he was a genuine 150 k bowler, but he's not even close to that.

Hasan Mahmud is 18, bowls 132-135 consistently and can hit 140. He's about 6'2" and most importantly has decent control. He will be playing alongside Taskin on a very strong Abahani side in this years DPL so we will know exactly where they both stand relative to one another.

Till Hasan is ready, Mashrafee-Mustafiz-Rubel plus Abu Hider should take the pace reigns in LOIs and Ebadat should partner the Fizz in Tests.
