Really is no excuses for Zimbabwe to not qualify for this tournament, probably need to get Mire back for this
WT20 is 16 teams so ZIM will definitely qualify. Super 12s might be tricky given ZIM are ranked 12th so they have no margin for error. But as long as they are in the top 16, they are good to go for Australia 2020.
The pretournament qualifiers isn’t the same as making it it to the big dance, you want to be playing against the best not the curtain raiser.

Should make the top 12

Great to see ICC mapping the performance of all the test playing nations in T20 through Cut Off date and making new system for the T20 World Cup.

The rise of Afghanistan has been taken into account in this format as a result more teams are being given chances through Regional Qualifiers to spread the game globally.

T20 format is exciting as none of the teams are considered to be favourites wheather they are full members or associate teams.

It wont be easy for Zimbabwe as they are least effective in this format, teams from Asia specially from the arab world are familiar with this T20 format.

Canada, Hong Kong, UAE & Nepal have their own T20 leagues and many renowned stars play in those leagues.

As per host is concerned, since the pre qualifying tournament will be played in October 2019, UAE is out of consideration as Pakistan will host Sri Lanka.

South Africa domestic season will start in october, also least chance of hosting the tournament. In 2015, Ireland & Scotland jointly host the tournament, there is a chance of Zimbabwe, Kenya & Namibia combined hosting these games.

The initial round of 8 teams is still branded as the WT20 proper. I agree that the real tournament starts with the Super 12 stage.

But its interesting that they've expanded it from the 10 teams its been in previous editions.

Doesnt want any team to be the victim of Rain & washed way games. There should be scope of arranging washed away game in the next day

I don't know why Zimbabwe can't organize a series against Uganda and Namibia? Now that all teams have T20I status as well. It could be good for players

Do we know where the pre-qualifying tournament is being held?
No announcement so far. UAE the favourite by all accounts. Would like to see it be in South Africa from a Zim perspective.
What difference would it make in SA vs UAE?
If it’s in the UAE it means the Board can stay in the Burj Khalifa, can shag quality Russian hookers, travel First Class and blow ZC’s annual allocation in three weeks.
They must have semi erections already.
