[Series Thread] World Cup 2019
Re: [Series Thread] World Cup 2019
That English batting line up is spooky. Roy threw away a double for the opportunity to go 6x6 which I found interesting. Wouldn’t he have been the first player to get a double in a WC? I would have thought that would have been a lot better than getting the 6x6.

For me Vince has potential to be a lot better than Morgan. I’ve watched him a few times and he just oozes talent.
Bairstow and Roy upfront followed by Root and then Buttler at 5/6 is a fairly unique ODI line up. They are amazing players. Morgan is good obviously but he’s not one of my favourites.

Chris Gayle scored a double in the last edition against us after surviving "an umpires call" off the bowling of Panyangara. I don't mind you forgetting that as it turned into a miserable afternoon for us.Googly wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2019 5:43 amThat English batting line up is spooky. Guptill scored another one and made sure he went past Gayle so at least the highest WC individual score is not against us...

Hahah thank youjaybro wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2019 2:37 amAfghanistan really stinking it up at this World Cup so far, haven’t passed 200 in their 3 matches and now looks like they’re about to hit a controversy storm with Mohammed Shahzad reportedly replaces in the squad due to injury, only for him to tweet he’s not injured and is fit.
Found it actually quite funny he posted a photo of himself in tears lol, sorry I did understand this would be upsetting for him but he carries on like such a pelican I have little sympathy for him.
Also interesting to note the ‘benchmark’ of ODI bowling were hammered for 380 odd by the English side, and despite having Tamin & Mushy who are ultra-class & world-class players couldn’t get close to the total.
Top knock from Shakib though, called it before the tournament started it was a good idea playing him @3, their bowling really was toothless though. I’ve said it before that guys like Mehidy & the Fizz are overrated and rely mainly on dodgy pitches at home to perform.
The Zimbabwe Cricket team have found Ebola in one of their members, but they're not concerned because they have also found Ebatsmen and Efielda!

Vince looks good , doesn’t mean he is . Morgan is class and perfect for the England team with his role. VinceGoogly wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2019 5:50 amFor me Vince has potential to be a lot better than Morgan. I’ve watched him a few times and he just oozes talent.

Has to play as a opener or not play at all , Morgan is seriously underrated and a great captain even though he isn’t English like most of the side

Yeah Vince is a top order player not point putting him in @4
I’ve noticed in recent times the batting positions in ODI & t20 cricket have become really ‘specialist’ positions, the top 3 are the stroke makers who hit boundaries whilst 3-5 are the ‘bankers’ guys who can be trusted to score at 4-5 am over without taking risks whilst 6-7 are the finishers guys who can hit from ball one.
You can argue it’s always been like this but I feel like in the past it’s been more a case of pick your best 7 batsman and put them in order where as now it’s more specialised players for the batting position.

Aussie bowling attack just conceded 350 and 290 to the Windies. So Babar scoring runs vs them isnt a big deal, given that Tamim and Mushy will also score good runs. Tamim already has in the 2017 champions trophy.

Australia didn’t concede 290 to the West Indies
“Tamim & Mushy will also score good runs” what exactly are good runs?
Just to be clear you’re claiming the Bangladesh bowling lineup is better than Australia’s ??
Just to be clear because at the moment it seems like you’re trying to make big statements but don’t have the balls to do so
