#ZCBOARD MUST GO
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
This isnt looking good for the interim board if you ask me. They really do look illegitimate. Whatever contingency plan they have needs to be used now. The ICC cant be expected to take them seriously right now. Cricket will die with no money and this shows that
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
There are two options here-
1. You only really need 11 players and 6 admin, I’d fire three of those and we may have a viable solution.
2. Just hand it back and tell these people never to bother SRC again, and for a bit of spite withdraw the ZAMCO assistance.
Last night I was sent a doc of a list of players and staff that were sueing SRC for wages. I guess it’s basically most of the people employed by ZC. Therein lies the problem. Aside from about 10-15% of them it was a list of people that will know with complete and utter certainty that there is absolutely no place for them in a functional well managed system. I was completely deflated when I saw that list. If that’s what we’ve got then there’s zero hope, and they would jump through burning rings of fire for Mukhulani because they’re unemployable elsewhere.

I can't help but laugh at those who refuse to help themselves.TapsC wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 12:40 amThis isnt looking good for the interim board if you ask me. They really do look illegitimate. This is literally the dialogue...
Players and staff: we want our wages and to play
SRC: come on the 1st of August and we will outline everything and ensure you get paid and play
ZC: suspend us then we can blame someone else
P&S: we haven't played or paid
SRC: come on 1st August and you will
ZC: cricket is a hobby
1st August comes
SRC: we didn't get a full turnout
P&S: what is your plan?
SRC: you would have heard had you come. Come, engage with us. We are here for you
ZC: everyone must suffer for us
These guys haven't been paid for ages and have been treated like crap and they keep running back to them. I can guess who is on that list googly if you don't wish to share. I have no sympathy for those people. They are literally hurting themselves. They want to be paid and play, yet they have been treated like crap by the old board and still run back. Idiots really.
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
Well I only recognized about 20 names on that list, the rest of them are unknowns. In a tiny cricketing environment like this if you go through school without being a well known cricketer how are you then jumping into a FC side? That’s just on the playing side, I don’t even know what to say about the other folk. It’s just such a mess. With co-operative people, money and whatever else is needed I don’t think this would ever work, I’m feeling really deflated, the horse has bolted over the horizon.
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
Also, on what grounds can they sue SRC for wages? I'm no lawyer but my basic understanding of it says they have none. They were being unpaid before SRC. The records and files show this. The idiocy astounds me. How they can go years being treated like crap and then when someone wants to do good for them, they run back to the person abusing them.
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
They know they wont win. Its all about perception. PR guys. Its to put pressure on Kirsty Coventry to act. Dont forget she is still accouantable to GVT. Every week they will be requiring an update at cabinet meetings. The issue with football hasnt helped either. She will be forced to act on 1 of those issues to save her own skin and cricket is the easier fix.zimbos_05 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 6:13 amAlso, on what grounds can they sue SRC for wages? They have all fallen into Mukuhlani's hands. I dont know why the SRC have not even tried any kind of meaningful PR. Mukuhlani has played a perfect political game. Its never about who is right or wrong in the end. Its about the quickest and least painful solution and he knows right now he is the solution.
Dialogue loading soon. Dont even think as far as October. Those ladies have to get on that plane. I have a suspicion Mukuhlani has told the ladies if the SRC back off you will get on that plane. Maybe he has struck a deal with the ICC that they will hold an emergency meeting. Maybe he is bluffing. All I know is that message of hope and money he is selling is winning.
Finally the SRC dont have money. That is why people didnt bother ptiching up for that meeting. They know they will be offered peanuts compared to what Mukuhlani can pay them. As much as there might be mismanagement at the top they could still pay better salaries than the SRC
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
I know this is probably sensitive info but would it be ok if you shared who is NOT on the list maybe.Googly wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 4:32 amWell I only recognized about 20 names on that list, the rest of them are unknowns. When did the SRC suspend ZC? Thats when you will find out that salaries stopped coming. Dont you remember the ladies not touring Europe and players not being paid? That happened when they got suspended. I'm not an idiot . You need to pay attention more instead of just lashing out. As a journalist yourself you know how important getting the facts right is. If you say they hadnt been paid their may salaries too then we can start from there.
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
As predicted
Lawyer or no lawyer, 'being paid late' and 'not being paid at all' are two VERY different things.
Please clarify. Are you saying the staff won't win. or referring to something else?TapsC wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 6:47 amThey know they wont win. Its all about perception. PR guys. 1. Mnangagwa won't fire Coventry!
2. Yes, Coventry won't be able to able to solve soccer.
3. Cricket decision is in ICC hands not hers.
4. Government itself has never been able to save soccer - this dates back to the late 80s. So IF they do decide Cricket must be saved, they won't tell SRC Board to step back because they will risk losing the moral upperhand due to mass resignations that will inevitably follow. They will outrightly dissolve SRC Board and Interim ZC Board - all in the Sports Ministry's name, and Coventry will resign not too long after that.
5. Except Coventry won't say she's resigning because she was against the fact things were being done in her name. Nor will she point fingers as if to say SRC/Interim ZC guys let her down. She knows she messed up, and knows fully well about the conflicts of interest she blindly sucked herself into, plus knows the majority of male and women domestic and national players(worst of all the Captains), plus support staff(from Admin to Groundstaff, umpires etc) do not support the Interim Board. Not to mention the mighty ICC - with an ENG, AUS, NZ & SA voice rejected the whole thing. Basically she'll just go quietly and claim she was overwhelmed in general to avoid upsetting anyone she might later need.
6. Mlotshwa will continue to make noise, and all of Coventry, DEB and VH will just keep quiet to maintain their dignity. Only he will lose his integrity over this.
On the Finances part yes. Minor msmanagement aside, ZC have been among the best paying employers in ZIM all things considered. SRC would never manage those salaries.
Finally, it's false for Googly and Zimbo to say Zc was overstaffed or employees overpaid, or argue that those people are not needed. It's on record that Faisal Hasnain oversaw mass retrenchments and restructuring before ICC could agree to a deal with ZC. Even Provincial sides' players and management's salaries and allowances were cut. Plus the agreement with ICC was that they would continue to monitor if those agreements are being kept. Let's please stick to fact on this subject. This is well documented!
