Didn’t he agree to meet the bookie??

You can say that he’s a competitor or he hates losing and that he earns enough money from his numerous T20 gigs, but sadly one thing that brings down a lot of people is greed.

You might think he earns enough but people who earn lots of money always want more, if the likes of Hansie Cronje, Salman Butt, Saleem Malik etc could fall to temptation then Shakib could could as well.

It’s very sad because he’s the best Bangladesh cricketer if all time and his name will sadly always be remembered or linked to this.
As shocking and disappointing as it is, Bangladesh cricket has to move forward Shakib or no Shakib. At 32, he's only got 3-4 years left (he once stated the 2023 WC as his cutoff).

I am looking forward to the India tour, because any player who does well, this is the real deal. There was a time when scoring runs vs Australia in Australia was the ultimate barometer of Test cricket. But on current form, runs vs India in India and wickets vs India in India are both the benchmarks right now.

For the younger guys especially, anything decent here will be worth double or more vs a team like the WI or Sri Lanka. So its important for young guys to put their hands up.

Out guys might have been bribed to win when we beat Australia. Utseya was a different player on that day.
