It's all good and fine to have a schedule for the competition, but knowing ZC the majority of these matches won't be played. And what's up with the "leaking"?

They are probably waiting for the weather forecast before confirming. I bet ZC are praying for rain.

Looks like rain will definitely have the last word on the opening round fixtures sadly.

Interesting to see what players actually turn out? We know numerous fringe players have left for Australia such as Tari Musakanda, Taffy Mupariwa & Tendai Maruma. It also seems Forster Mutizwa may have retired, I believe he was going to become an umpire IIRC.

With the Sri Lanka series in mind it's interesting that Raza & Burl who are probably fighting for the No.6 spot will be missing the opening rounds due to their commitments overseas! Raza should be back before Burl but it's yet to be seen whether or not he's made up with Hamilton & Makoni?

Also saw Luke Jongwe will return to the Tuskers which is a smart move IMO, he wasn't part of the Eagles 'best XI' last season so at least a return to Bulawayo should see him play every week.

Lastly according to Zimfan1 Kyle Jarvis wasn't given a NOC to play in the BPL, strangely enough Burl was given one.

Without giving NOC for BPL and other T20 Leagues, they should start not giving NOCs for Kolpak Deals

32 man squad for mountaineers
If they play 8 games and give everyone a go that’s three games each
The boys will be shattered after three games anyway, squad rotation is important

One thing I guarantee is that they won’t be paid unless they play, unless ZC just won Megamillions or perhaps there’s a charity $10 thank you payment for the vote of confidence for killing the cricket with finality. Buying loyalty is for peanuts and it must be paid

It’s a sad circus.

Squads -
Eagles: Chomunorwa Chibhabha, Elton Chigumbura, Tinotenda Mutombodzi, Regis Chakabva, Trevor Garwe, Tapiwa Mufudza, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Tony Munyonga, Cephas Zhuwao, Keith Jaure, Faraz Akram, Patrick Mambo, Daniel Jakiel, Cuthbert Musoko, Kuda Munyede, Rugare Magarira, Tawanda Sithole, Kudzai Maunze, Tinashe Nenhunzi
Pretty strong squad which shouldn't be effected much by national duties, looking for youngster Tony Munyonga to have a big season and build on his International debut. The addition of Blessing Muzarabani gives them a potent pace attack along with Richard Nagarva, Trevor Garwe, Patrick mambo & ZCF Favourite son Daniel Jakiel.
Mountaineers: Tinotenda Mawoyo, Kevin Kasuza, Victor Nyauchi, Kudzi Sauramba, Donald Tiripano, Tendai Chatara, Timycen Maruma, Roy Kaia, Wellington Masakadza, Shingirai Masakadza, Innocent Kaia, John Masara, Frank Mazvita, Tinashe Chimbambo, William Mashinge, Vincent Masekesa, Dion Myers, Gary Chirimuuta, Joylord Gumbie, Tinashe Chiora, Definate Mawadzi, Tafadzwa Muzarawetu, Spencer Magodo, Trevor Mutsamba, Baxton Gopito, Brighton Chapungu, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Richmond Mutumbami
Again another strong squad, they've covered the loss of Forster Mutizwa & Hamilton Masakadza by recruiting Richmond Mutumbami & Joylord Gumbie. They've also added Gary Chirimuuta & U19's Captain Dion Myers to further cover their batting although it's unlikely they'll lose any batsman to national honours. Former Test leg Spinner Natsai M'shangwe is a notable absentee.
Rangers: Johnathan Campbell, Tinotenda Takodza, Brendan Taylor, Dylan Hondo, Brian Mudzinganyama, Alvin Chiradza, Daniel Zvidzai, Clive Imbayago, Clive Chitumba, Davis Murwendo, Kudakwashe Macheka, Manson Chikowero, Tanunurwa Makoni, Sydney Murombo, Kyle Jarvis, Charlton Tshuma, David Brent
The new boys on the block are Alistair Campbell's ACHPP side who are also the smallest squad with only 17 players, they are boosted though by the inclusions of Brendan Taylor & Kyle Jarvis, although it's yet to be seen how many games those two actually play considering their limited appearances last season. Gary Brent spoke glowingly about opening batsman Brian Mudzinganyama who can hit the ball with power, whilst he has high hopes for seamers Charlton Tshuma & Davis Murwendo. It's also a family affair with Campbell's son Jonathan & Brent's cousin David being added to the squad.
Rhinos: Tafara Chingwara, Walter Matau, Nigel Mupurura, Trevor Gwandu, Remebrance Nyathi, Tashinga Musekiwa, Nyasha Mayavo, Tendai Chisoro, Bothwell Chapungu, Bright Njanji, Neville Madziva, Ronald Masocha, Jameson Chikowero, Carl Mumba, Tanyaradzwa Munyaradzi, Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Trevor Chibvongodze, Nqobile Ndlovu, Wallace Mubaiwa, Prince Masvaure, Bright Matsiwe, Larvet Masunda, Muhammad Hussain Bhola, Brandon Mavuta, Ryan Burl, Josh Mawire, Peter Moor, Mkhululi Nyathi, Herbert Chikomba, Nyasha Dube, Tadana Masike, Kudzanai Chizura
The biggest squad and probably the weakest on paper, the Mid West Rhinos have lost almost their entire 'Best XI' from last season with the retirements of Malcom Waller, Vusi, Cremer, Solomon Mire & presumably Michael Chinoyua who's name is missing from the list. They have also lost batsman Tari Musakanda & Tendai Maruma to club cricket in Australia along with the double blow of losing Taylor & Jarvis to the Rangers. To make matters worse key batsman Ryan Burl is off playing in the BPL so it's unclear how many matches he will take part in, whilst PJ Moor is likely to be picked for the Sri Lanka series with other key men such as Brandon Mavuta, Carl Mumba & Neville Madziva outside chances to be picked. It could be a very long season for the Rhinos who look destined to continue their trophy drought for another season.
Tuskers: Brian Chari, Nkosana Mpofu, Craig Ervine, Sean Williams, Charles Kunje, Cunningham Ncube, Shoun Handirisi, Aarsh Jha, Luke Jongwe, Ernest Masuku, Christopher Mpofu, Ainsley Ndlovu, Sheunopa Musekwa, Stephen Dzimbanhete, Talent Dzikiti, Jeffrey Muriyengwe, Sikandar Raza, Jayden Hawukose, Milton Shumba, Wesley Madhevere, Ryan Murray, Prince Kaunda, Arnold Shara, Bright Phiri, Mpokuhle Dube, John Nyumbu
Maybe the strongest squad overall the Tuskers boast easily the best batting lineup with no less than four Test batsman in the squad, although this could backfire on them if all of Brian Chari, Sean Williams, Craig Ervine & Sikander Raza are picked for the Sri Lanka series. The prodigal son Luke Jongwe has returned after a disappointing season at the Eagles, interesting too see how he goes this season after falling off the radar in recent years. The addition of youngsters Milton Shumba, Wes Madhevere & Ryan Murray is a bright hope for the future, although it's again hard to see them playing many matches with Murray still at University in South Africa and Shumba & Madhevere going to the U19's WC.
