This keeper-batsman Dane Schadendorf is definitely one for the future.. this dismissal had shades of Dhoni in it..

People overhype it’s because it looked slick. He didn’t read it and it only looks good because he’s off balance and flicked it.
Great keeping would mean he doesn’t get himself in that tangle.

Madhevere is taking a gap year to try break into the national team. I'm assuming his best mate Shumba will do the same thing. I don't think they would have done this without consulting the people in charge. It will be interesting to see how that goes. Nobody had actually considered that Brian Mudzinganyama is direct competition to them but still it would only make sense for them to go to the Rangers who don't have enough batsmen. Then they should head to England in June if they are smart.
A big coup would be for them to convince Myers to take a gap year next year and play in the next domestic season. I have no doubt he will crack the national team. If they get Myers to play with Murray coming back as well plus the likes of Madhevere Munyonga Shumba Mudzinganyama and Musakanda I think we have a chance in the future. Add Burl to this and you have a whole batting line up. What we also need is A team cricket. We desperately need that exposure.

That’s great news. The emergence of the Rangers has probably provided some assurance for these guys that there’s an easier pathway into domestic cricket and then the national side. Let’s hope this can set some kind of trend

The under 19s need to adapt to the new ground where they will play group matches. Its more seam friendly than where they played the tri series

UAE beat New Zealand. Perhaps they are just crap.

They did look distinctly poor on the YouTube footage. Anyone on the ground know if there’s another Kane Williamson or Daniel Vettori coming through?

It was not only a warm up game, some contract must have been signed for the upcomming season in UK

Even our lowly FC is a step up from what Madhevere is probably expecting. If he makes an impression against India, England or Pakistan maybe he will do ok in FC, getting MoM against Canada is not enough. I don’t think he will find it that easy.
The men here in FC won’t just make way for him, everyone is batting for a spot because the only place that pays is in the National side. He has some ability, but most of cricket at the higher levels is played between the ears.
Our FC season offers only a few games to put your hand up as well. Even the ZC are getting excited about Myers, Shumba and Madhevere and we haven’t even played a game yet , it’s just a distraction from the chaos that exists, it’s like the farm invasions distracting people from the DRC fiasco that bankrupted our nation well before the land debacle did.
Zimbabwe is so broken as a nation that we all grasp at the smallest bit of good news like a drowning man grabs a life vest.
When Balderdash from England bowls well there’s no one calling for him to open with Archer.
Stay calm folks.
