Easy bowling attack. Well you have it from the horses mouth now. Please tell that idiot on Twitter Frank mawoza who thinks it is solely Taylors fault rather than incompetent selectors or bang average bowlers

Re: Match Thread | Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh | Mirpur, Dhaka | 2020
You look at our batting and two of their bowlers went for under 2rpo. You look at ours and not one of ours went for less than 3rpo. This comes back to our last chat about scoring rate. Had we rotated the strike better and looked to be positive, we might not be in this situation. Unfortunately, we still play very much with a mentality of, "rather keep my wicket than score runs".
I agree our bowling offers nothing, but other than Craig, no one has performed in this match. My one criticism of Craig is he did not look to mix up the bowling when things did not work. Not really sure who he would have gone to considering the actual bowlers could not do anything, but it's not uncommon to see non-regular guys throw down an over or two and try to confuse the batsmen.
It's also very obvious that a lot of our batsmen freak out against spin and Bangladesh know this. Rajput should have addressed this but clearly hasn't.
We could easily lose this by an innings and those who should be accountable wont be.

He will never listen. He hates BT with a passion and insists that he must score a hundred every single game or he is a failure. He will also accuse you of being a racist at every possible turn.

I have to agree with Zimdoggy here. The innings run rate was under 2.5. That is stonewalling in the modern era, isn't it? Suppose Zimbabwe bat at 2 an over, that means there won't be much strike rotation either, meaning that a Taijul or Ebadat can just bowl mostly to one batsman and probe around. Against a better bowling attack it won't work at. Imagine a Kasuza or even an Ervine repeatedly facing 4, 5, or 6 balls an over against a Rabada or a Boult. They wouldn't last long.brmtaylor.com admin wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 11:15 am
This is why I still advocate for a stone walling approach in the first innings. Batting time is just as important for us as scoring runs because it gives us options later in the game. If we only bat four sessions or so, like we did in this game, then it just leaves too much time in the match for the opposition to put up a mammoth score risk-free.
The other issue, lets say stonewalling is scoring at 2 an over, since 2.5 on a flat wicket was "too aggressive". You'd have to bat 175 overs to score the magic number of 350. The opposition, be it India or Ireland only needs 10 good balls. The more overs you bat, the more likely you are to get 10 good balls. Bangladesh only batted about 150 overs here, and a bowler of Ndlovu's quality was able to produce 5-6 good balls. What would a Rashid Khan or a Kemar Roach do?
You did mention you aren't in favor of blocking half volleys. But when in stonewall mode a lot of times you are unable to put bad balls away. It happens. Prince failed to put several balls off his pads away in the first innings. Part of that is due to his overly defensive mindset IMO. He's looking to either leave or defend with the full face of the bat, rather than close the bat face to flick them away.

Musfy is right, he won't face an easier attack, I'm glad he didn't come out and say it was a tough innings, because it wasn't.
The mentality of Mushy was also interesting, he's obviously salty about Mominul declaring on him, I wonder if Mominul would have declared if he was 200*?? From what Mushy said it's clear he would have kept batting. Compare that to Australia where Michael Clarke declared when he was on 329* v India, they won the match with a Day to spare, or when Tim Paine declard on Dave Warner who was 335* again they won with lots of time to spare.

As for the match result the rain forecast seems to have cleared up for tomorrow so nothing can save Zimbabwe, Prince and Don out in the 1st over FML
Taylor survived till Stumps, expect him to come out tomorrow guns blazing, he only plays for himself now, his one and only goal will be to score a 100, he'll be playing his shots.
Last Test Zimbabwe play for a while, lets hope the boys dig in and we see a couple of batting milestones

I don’t think Mushy will be too upset. The weather is iffy and BD will want to make sure they have at least 4 sessions to get 10 wickets. A pointless record matters less in that context.

Typical Zimbabwe. At varying stages over the last 15 years our batting has gone from a weakness to a strength and our bowling from a strength to a weakness. We can never get both on fire at the same time. We can however get them to both suck at the same time.

Correction :
Batting got from weakness to average ( Easily gets collapsed from no where in 4th innings ) and bowling got nothing
