Jongwe, Shumba, Wez and Tari should all be in this squad.

I'd drop Tiripano for Luke, Mutombodzi for Shumba and make sure Tari is in the lineup somewhere. This is an absolutely fantastic opportunity for our selectors to pick these guys. They have every reason to as well. They're all scoring runs and taking wickets, putting their hands up to be counted.

If I see Regis, Maruma and Mutombodzi anywhere near a Zimbabwe squad for this home series I'll personally assassinate the selection panel

Not sure Shumba has done enough, is Jongwe bowling enough? would he make it as a specialist batsman? Probably not. I will be very interested to see if Chibhabha is still captain. Jarvis should be back which will be great, I would stick with Mumba as he has done OK.

Burl should be fit, would have him ahead of Shumba.

I think it may be time to leave Ervine out of ODI cricket.

You'd get rid of Ervine, arguably our most technically sound stick in the side? I disagree. I think he's still got a lot to offer the team, and he's a much better fit than half the dross who've been selected on this tour.

I’m glad we aren’t playing tests here.
I feel playing Ireland cheapens the worth of averages and unfairly means players like Goodwin and flower are levelled with guys like Kasuza

If you don't drop one of the 34 year old Ervine, 34 year old BT, 33 year old Raza, 33 year old Williams then how are any of Shumba, Wes, Burl, Jongwe and K Long going to play?

First and foremost, we get rid of Chakabva , leaving an opportunity (in an ideal world) for Burl to open.

Taylor takes the gloves as he should do anyway, allowing for an extra batter to come in.

Mutombodzi leaves the side and Shumba comes in, providing a more reliable batter and spin option.

Wez is already in the current lineup.

I'd honestly drop Tiripano for Jongwe, who is indeed taking wickets and scoring runs domestically, doing everything he possibly can for a recall.

Then as the extra batter I'd have Tari in the squad.

Simple. I refuse to even consider dropping Ervine when you've not mentioned dropping lesser talented and much greater under performing batters like the blokes I've mentioned up top. Hell, if Chibahba wasn't around, which he shouldn't be, there's room for Tari to slot in.

Taylor can't keep, back is fucked. When has Burl ever opened? Klong needs an extended run at the top.

I think you still have the ‘Big Four’ experienced batters amongst a host of youngsters, the key is to not have ‘useless failures’ like Regis, Maruma, Chamu etc

The Derbyshire games will hopefully give us a better idea of who is ready or not regarding the younger guys, the issue with throwing too many ‘green fellas’ into the Ireland series is that Zimbabwe really need to win both series to save face after last years disaster.

BT - Time to have him open in ODI now IMO
Kamunhukamwe - deserves a chance to find his feet
Ervine - Could also open if needed
Williams - hopefully will be captain for the series
Wes - this series might be a chance for him to open as well
Raza - still so important at No.6 & as the off spinner
Shumba - just got a Logan Cup ton & his bowling is very good
Mutumbami - if BT can’t keep & Murray isn’t available we have no choice
Mashinge - his bowling numbers are good & he can bat
Jarvis - hopefully fit
Chatara - hopefully fit

Burl - hopefully fit & plays some games v Derbyshire
Jongwe - batting is back but needs to be bowling more
Mumba - showing signs he’s finding his feet at ODI level
Mavuta - still the best young spin prospect in Zim

A few of those guys have been doing really well in Logan Cup more so than the Pro50, but I feel that’s a good side with a blend of youth & experience
