Hypothetical series wins scenarios

Post by Kriterion_BD »

I'm curious to know which format, if any, ZCF posters favor over others. As such here are some scenarios, and I'd like posters to respond to pick just one format per series (ie ODIs) which they would most like to see Zimbabwe win against a given opposition.

The caveat is that you can only pick one of the formats.

Each tour is is an identical away tour at the home of the opposition.

1) @ New Zealand | 2 Tests | 3 ODIs | 3 T20Is

2) @ Bangladesh | 2 Tests | 3 ODIs | 3 T20Is

3) @ Afghanistan (in India) | 2 Tests | 3 ODIs | 3 T20Is

4) @ Ireland | 2 Tests | 3 ODIs | 3 T20Is

5) @ Netherlands | 3 ODIs | 3 T20Is

6) @ USA | 3 ODIs | 3 T20Is

So just to clarify the instructions, you get to pick one format (eg Tests) in each of the 6 series (so 6 answers in total) in which you would most like to see Zimbabwe win. You can pick the same format for all series if thats your preference.

To be honest present team performance and ability is similar to any top level associate.Ireland moved ahead of Zim, Netherland can give neck to neck fight to Zimbabwe

USA is the only side they can make clean sweep in odis & T20Is

Easy choice: Test cricket is what matters to me more than anything.

The ODI series last year in the Netherlands, played somewhere in the sticks in front of literally three spectators in an armchair and a stray dog, was the most disheartening sight I've ever seen since I started to follow Zim cricket. In the absence of Test cricket I would therefore have to opt for T20s: the quicker it's over the better.

The NZ option, followed by the Bdesh option.

I must have misunderstood, why would anyone choose 6 games against USA when they could play 8 game against NZ?

Or do you mean to choose every country and pick a format to play per country?

I'd pick 2 Tests against NZ and would be thrilled with 0-0 ;)

I'd take tests against any test playing nations. Winning a test series is a huge deal. And for Netherlands and USA, win the T20s I'd love for some good aggressive cricket from us.

T20 just isn’t our format. We don’t know what we are doing.

Yes, but not a format to play, but a format to beat the opposition in.

So for example if for the NZ series you pick "Tests" that would mean that you want ZIM to win the Test series vs NZ, over the other 2 formats.
