I have a feeling that in a 4 way draft that goes like how BRMT Admin has defined here, being 3rd is the worst case scenario. I'll try to prove this mathematically too while I'm picking my side, so that when my side loses the popularity vote ultimately, I can quote that proof . I'm currently torn between 3 people I want to pick. I'm sure the other two will be gobbled up before I get my chance again

OK, I'm taking a huge risk and sealing the power hitter in my team in this round. With Streak, Blignaut, Sean Ervine gone, I need to grab Elton Chigumbura before he is off the list.
Kriterion_BD: (#1) Heath Streak, (#8) Guy Whittall, (#9) Alistair Campbell
eugene: (#2) Andy Flower, (#7) Murray Goodwin, (#10) Andy Blignaut
CrimsonAvenger: (#3) Grant Flower, (#6) David Houghton, (#11) Eddo Brandes, (#14) Elton Chigumbura
jaybro: (#4) Brendan Taylor, (#5) Neil Johnson, (#12) Sean Ervine, (#13) Graeme Cremer

Wow didn't expect that!!!
Good pick though, plenty of runs and wickets in his prime

Yes, architect of our most recent win against the Aussies, whom these teams would be playing at the end of it all
Chigs at the top of his game is an excellent 2-dimensional pick. And was a very safe fielder in the outfield.

I was tempted to take Elton over Cremer and just risk ending up missing out on he, Price or Paul Strang which is highly likely considering there were going to be 6 picks before I went again.CrimsonAvenger wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 6:21 amYes, architect of our most recent win against the Aussies, whom these teams would be playing at the end of it all

If you consider BT a wk, Houghton would be thereabouts as well. But yeah, in the prime of his fitness BT managed to keep quite decently throughout a whole Test Match.CrimsonAvenger wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 4:42 amDavid Houghton has 2 international stumpings against his name He was a specialist wicket keeper for a decent amount of time before he gave up the gloves as Andy Flower came along...
AC getting picked early was a surprise. Most overrated batsmen of his generation if you ask me. The quintessential "50s are the Zim hundred"-player. Even Carlisle and Wishart took fewer Tests to get a ton.

Agree, that's been my major surprise too! That and Guy Whittall getting picked up before I could get my hands on him...foreignfield wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 7:47 amAC getting picked early was a surprise. Harsh on AC there FF
I'd say as a Test Batsman he underachieved no doubt; but his ODI numbers and his captaincy make him a worthy selection in the top 10

Yes Whittall went very early indeed; I have my own spreadsheet with draft predictions going on and I had Whittall going to Eugene Pick 15CrimsonAvenger wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 8:00 am

Interesting to know Heath Streak had an overall International Batting average higher than Whittall

Haha, I wouldn't have left it till then . He would have been my pick 4 instead of Chigs. Massive utility player who could bat anywhere between 1-8 according to the match situation and second change bowler. Excellent outfielder. Would have been the skipper of my team too.
Streak got very good with the bat in his final years.
