That reminds me... whatever happened to this "Prophet Java's" T10 tournament? Or is this the same thing?

Re: Zim Afro T10 league
I wonder how much cash will be in play to purchase/pay players, and how many Zimbos will get a shot?
My pessimistic prediction is that it will be a one off flop.
Once again we need lights at HSC.

Well I'm all for Zim finding success in any level of senior cricket that's around, but as far as I'm concerned T10 is the biggest load of shit I've ever heard of, why not have a T1 tournament and finish off the game of cricket completely?

Pretty much my thoughts too.Train Driver wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2022 7:19 pmWell I'm all for Zim finding success in any level of senior cricket that's around, but as far as I'm concerned T10 is the biggest load of shit I've ever heard of, why not have a T1 tournament and finish off the game of cricket completely?

I'm mostly of that view, but I'd like to see a few of our players earn some decent money.
It would be good to know how much money is getting put into this and how it's all going to work. We will know fairly soon because it's a 4 months away.
Is the T10 format to change it up because they feel T20 is oversubscribed?
Why would this dude opt for Zim when he can host the tournament in his own backyard?
What venues will they use?
It all sounds as dodgy as hell.

Re: Zim Afro T10 league
They probably chose T10 because there are too many T20 tournaments. It makes it unique and a much shorter event.
The problem they had last time with the Stanbic T20 was that they paid for most of it. I'm sure they learnt their lesson. So far I don't have any complaints even though I'm also not the biggest fan of that format.
If our guys can make some good money off it then it's a positive thing. Especially the local guys who might not be on the biggest contract or any national contract at all. It might just be the financial injection needed to top up their domestic contracts and UK Club stints.
There is also some genuine national interest in the game again. They might get some decent crowds on weekends

Perfect opportunity to use some funds to get the lights up.
Some night cricket would be really interesting. These modern lights don't require huge KVa either.
