His first few overs were absolutely tragic. Also one of the most rotten misfields you'll ever see at this level. Did better after his 1st wicket. Fair play to him.

I just can't get behind a guy who is selected on the basis of his wealth and erm, generosity.

Positive reinforcement saying he bossed it bro  70mph would be rapid in the women’s game. Bet Nomvelo sibanda is quicker

Good luck to young Faraz seems shady in an imran Tahir kind of way and he’s marginally better than Larry while old bread man even is injured still.

I also think there's something to be said for batting TK down the order. International openers like this Sri Lankan duo are not going to give you shit deliveries to smack around very often. If you don't have a bloody solid defence and technique you're going to be found out. In TK we have a guy that can get on with it down the order.
where down the orders
spots are reserved for welly or jongwe, madande and burl

While it is expected that Zimbabwe will lose all the games on this tour. The 4-5 overs of Zimbabwe's batting were a depressing watch.

Kaitano is simply not international material and that he is being tried out is very concerning.

Kamunhukamwe probably needs a few more chances but did not look good yesterday.

Ervine appears to be a man past his expiry date. The fact that Zim are trying to hang on to him is an indication of the lack of talent coming through.

The bowlers did a fair job which was good to see, but overall there are many questions and very few answers.

To be honest the Sri Lankan bowling lineup is just way better for the teams ranked 9 and below. They were bowling everyone out for less than 200 in the qualifiers. Ervine is vulnerable to that kind of pace early on and K-long is not technically sound enough to face that type of left arm pace with that much movement.

Kaitano wasn’t scoring but at least he survived. A lot of the matches he has been selected to play at international level have been very difficult. Of the 10 ODIs he has played 4 have been against Sri Lanka, 2 against India, 2 against Bangladesh, 1 against Australia and only 1 relatively easy match against Ireland last month where he ran himself out. I have no doubt if he played against the Netherlands etc he would be scoring a lot more. He averages almost 30 against Sri Lanka and that’s why they picked him.

I would say try K-Long again just in case he gets it right then we can have a Kaitano and Gumbie measured approach for the first 10-15 overs. If we bat the full 50 overs chasing 270 we win.
