Aah ok I know the 3 year ICC thing, but you still need a citizenship. The 3 year thing is if you've played for another country.

Investment citzenship is more or less immediate for all intents and purposes but I believe the ICC have their own hurdles to overcome.Googly wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 6:00 pmI thought it was 10 years here unless you go the investment passport route then it's basically immediate?secretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 5:46 pmWell it's three years permanent residency with no 'significant' periods of time out of the country so on that count he isn't eligible until September 2026. Unless they bend the rules and gift him a passport.
Last time I said this to someoen on Facebook guess who inboxed me to say I was right?
Hint:
Someone in our regular national 11 who has gone through it.

You mean Raza? He did a long stint before he became eligible. He will have mixed feelings about someone being fast tracked.
There was a fu ny reply to Knackerville and his citizenship dilemma- the guy said "I'll give him mine!"

No it’s separate from the switching countries thing. Eligibility criteria is here, article 2;
https://resources.pulse.icc-cricket.com ... -2021-.pdf
In summary it’s one of:
- Born in the country
- or a Passport holder
- or permanently Resident for the past three years consecutively

Ok. Either that's changed or I've misread it for the last 10 years

It is obvious to me that the sooner the likes of Naqvi, Myers and Campbell get into the team the better.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 4:24 pmHow do you know?
He's clearly a good player but all we know so far is that he is able to score big runs batting against Nkosana Mpofu, Nkosibongwe Gogodo and Mgcini Dube.
With the greatest respect to them, 'lower level international teams' generally have far better attacks than that.
I hope you are right because he will undoubtedly play for us at some point, and we are desperate.
