Upcoming Domestic season
Upcoming Domestic season
With the domestic season just around the corner there has been rumours off possible moves to different franchises, does anyone know of confirmed moves? It will be quite tough as I hear that each franchise can only give out ten contracts,is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Re: Upcoming Domestic season
I think there will be a few people leaving the rocks,I cant see Ervine going back,Iv also heard that Razza is going to eagles and Marillier has already signed a contract with Rhinos.

Re: Upcoming Domestic season
Seeing that there'll be a bit of a break until the Zim XI game against Bangladesh, my thoughts have briefly turned to our domestic scene which will kick off soon. As always I'm rooting for my beloved Tuskers. I'm not certain about player movements, but the regulars should still be there. Although it does look like we've got gaps to fill:
1duffin(vc), 2?, 3ewing(c), 4?, 5?, 6coventry(wk), 7dabengwa, 8meth, 9mupariwa, 10ncube, 11mpofu
With overseas players out of the equation (Horton etc), I wouldn't mind us patching up our differences with nutcase Mark Vermeulen and get him to come 'home' for that opener's spot. He can be prised back into the game I feel. Williams needs to be tracked down for that number four spot, otherwise we'll definitely have headaches. I wouldn't mind poaching Waller for that number five spot. He would really fit into our side. Blignaut isn't a lost case so if we can get the finances side looked into, I'm sure the excitement around the game now that we'll be playing Tests, can tempt him to take a look even if it's the odd domestic game. He's definitely be a drawcard.
Of all our competition, I fear Mountaineers have enough quality to challenge us: hamilton, chatara, maruma, shingi, mawoyo, mushangwe, panyangara & utseya. Their bowling resources look to be the most impressive. But then again their team has a bias towards the bowling department, which will be their undoing. As was the case last season, national duty means their player depth will give them the edge while other teams run short on quality.
At full strength, and with the right inclusions, I think we've got the firepower to retain our title. Other teams aren't blessed with the balance and experience that we have. As a result I reckon we should start off as favorites. What say you fellow Tuskers? No doubt our foes will differ.

Dabengwa?! I don't think he is of Tuskers standard. He should be playing at a level no higher than social lunchtime cricket.
