T20 World Cup Match 2 - Zimbabwe vs Australia (13th February)
Re: T20 World Cup Match 2 - Zimbabwe vs Australia (13th February)
Might be the first game I have ever witnessed where we were in control for more than 80% of the match against one of the big 3. Brilliant win. No low scoring thriller. Just clinical

Great win by Zimbabwe. Just the whole execution of the match was so impressive. Where has this Zimbabwe been?
I just hope they don't get a hangover from this win and lose their intensity against Ireland. They've got one foot in the Super 8. Don't screw it up now

Agree,
Almost all the bats fired (I was asleep so just saw the scorecard) and no real passenger efforts.
Fielding appeared top notch. The 2010-2019 era of misfields and dropping dobblies seems thankfully over. Who takes credit for that?
Today we actually looked like a real international team for once.
We choked them and bowled them out too. Usually when we win these upsets there is some weird factor like rain or an unlucky pitch. Today we just outclassed. Never seen this ever. This was more 1999 Zim.
Common sense and logic (Burl up the order etc) pays dividends. Been one of our biggest killers.

That was as clinical of a performance as you could ask for. Batting was solid, bowling was smart (Muzarabani and Evans superb) and the fielding was phenomenal. The desperation in those saves by the boundary was so good to see. There was no point in the game where we weren't in complete control.

All the lows we have with our thieving idiots in charge of ZC and the country, are almost worth moments like this.
It would be so like us to trip over Ireland now though
