Right, then. Lets talk about the next match. Cremer for Maruma? Unless of course, he goes on to score a big 100 and wins the match for Zim... Or Cremer for Dabengwa, hopefully.

I would go with Mupariwa for Maruma, I think our lack of fast bowling depth (we turned to Masakadza and Chibhabha, who both got absolutely hammered) cost us today.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but if Maruma does well with the bat (30+ would count as good IMO) he can stay in the team, and Mupariwa can replace Dabengwa, Chakabva (he should get an extended run though) or Matsikenyeri.

Just noticed. Cricinfo's headline for Zim's win over Ireland:
Taibu and Dabengwa star in convincing Zimbabwe win

Dabengwa hardly starred. Scored a single run (no surprise there) and took two of his wickets from batsmen #8 and #9. He was economical though, I'll give him that :P

Maruma's just hit two fours, well I'll be damned  I know he scored 70 odd in a tour game against the Pakistan Board XI, but I never expected him to open in an ODI.

15 from 14, I'm not sure whether he is playing that pinch hitter role that Zhuwawo was tried in or whether they want him there for some other reason :?

It's good to see Maruma and Taibu have stopped taking risks and are now playing for the draw.

Which is fine in a Test match, but kinda pointless in an ODI. I'd much rather see them go down swinging than bat out a tame innings.

Although I suppose if they can prevent Kenya from picking up the bonus point it could work in their favour later in the tourney...

That was an ideal opportunity for dabengwa to silence the doubters as he had come in relatively early in the innings. Out for 4
