Zim Cricket is not in turmoil. If all the countries toured Zim, like they did during the 90's early 2000's then ZC would have enough money for the bosses to plunder and leave some to use productively on Zim Cricket. No teams are touring, Zim is not getting significant TV/Advertising money!

The same applies to Zim as a country. It's under smart sanctions, EU, US & UK not trading with Zim, so the economy is struggling! ;)

ZC have Chingoka in charge, they've regained Test status by giving the racist world the white faces they wanted, ECB still doesn't want to budge, so they can let go of those faces and struggle along.

We'll be in a better financial and match exposure situation going forward.

Of course we start by spending money to go to WI. However, we're getting some inbound tours, even India will come in 2013 as per FTP, as will Pakistan based on the move they agreed to, plus SL, so we'll get a bit of money. Don't forget Bangladesh as well.

2014 will get better as Aus & SA will come down. But later on it'll be our turn to go to Ban&Pak. Not ideal conditions for preparation weeks before the 2015WC in NZ, but it gives us an excuse for a poor performance.

We're off to Sl straight after that, but Pak, WI & NZ visit us soon after we return.

2016 doesn't slow down either as we go to Ban & NZ(no Test); before hosting India & SL again.

Sure we have a long drought after that until 2018 when we host Pakistan, but the Aussies host us after that for the first time in a long time. The Pakis and the Black Caps visit us soon afterwards, before SA host us after a long time as well. I'm sure some sides' A teams, including the ever desperate Ban, will be eager to help our much improved side fill the gaps.

Hosting tours is not cheap, but we have the rights so money to be made, and ZC already have that TenSports deal. What's important is international matches.

The Coltart-AC camp know this, as do the PC, OB, GM & SM camp, they want in, except they want to be in complete control, and that's why a lot of this madness is going on.

They can go. No need for an empty reconciliation. We're back in the mix. :D

5 years of non-stop action! Plenty of chances for Mushangwe, Ncube, Nathan, Chatara, Shingi, Sauramba, Chari, Musoko, Kasuza, Matsi, Mugava, Mutombodzi, Kamungozi, you name it! Not forgetting the practice matches before the actual matches.

All the more reason why I say Cremer shouldn't have accepted a call up to the Test, and risk bowling one innings and getting 1/150+, after a poor NZ tour on the back of injury/poor match fitness. He won't recover after that.

Mangongo is a thug, I have been saying this for years. Thankfully ZCF has some people on the ground who actually know what is happening.

This Mangogo fella shouldn't even be considered for the coaching job if he's going around saying racial crap.

As meatloaf would say....took the words right of my mouth...

I have, for personal reason(known to me) to be very frightened, if gargamel has such damning info....I'm distraught my prediction of greed and personal prospects at any cost are coming true....hope I'm proved wrong but I fear the worst, and to think there are genuine talented cricketers such as Vusi Hami Mpofu and many other black players he purports to stand up for, whose futures he blatendly doesn't mind ruining, hopefully unwittingly and at worst without regard, so he can get to the top.....hhm I on a daily basis shocked at the person you have become in a short space of time....

Captain Brendan Taylor chips in.

Picked up on Facebook (disclaimer: I found this on the Zimbabwe Cricket fan page; I cannot vouch that this is actually Taylor, but seems legit):
It's a MASSIVE concern not having Grant,Heath and Lorraine with us for the up coming tour to the West Indies. For me personally as a captain and a batter and I can speak on behalf of the others in the side we are taking steps in the wrong direction by doing this. We will never have a guy like Grant Flower ever again as a batting coach and this is how they are being treated, his work ethic is second to none. Qualified as a level 4 coach ( can't get any higher) I recall times where he has thrown to the guys from 9am through to 5pm for weeks on end. You might say that is his job,but no one will do it better. The bit of success that myself and others have had over the past couple years, I put that down to Grant Flower. People are saying the preparation should have been done prior to the tour, that's correct! But preparation on tour is vital to,let alone their knowledge, advice and their experience that could shared on a daily basis. In saying this all we hope to do everyone proud and sincerely appreciate your support. Let's hope changes are made!!!!
Remember what was said by Shingai Rhuhwaya, general manager of media and public affairs :
"After consulting with the players and the head coach on the effectiveness of the current coaching structure which has a head coach, an assistant coach and two specialists a decision was made to streamline the structure to allow for better strategy formulation and communication in camp,"
So...players were consulted? One particularly important player doesn't seem to have been consulted!

I was there and quite shocked that the man would conspire to burn the bridges that have been reconstructed over the past few years. The man wants to prove that he deserves his shot at being national coach and the way things are going both Makoni and Mangongo will be in their desired seats of power as king makers as it were for national team players. Their tracked record for player grooming i can and will never question as they are pioneers that torched the way forward through Takashinga Club. The fruits of the hard work they have delivered our current crop of top players Hami , Tiba , Muzarabani , Snakey and PRO. The results are there for all to see that the man can coach ,Eagles are topping the T20 and ODI sides since he took over and they just had a rotten start to the Logan cup in part to the loss of KC.

My gripe is the strong handedness and the threats that have come to the fore as he works his way to national team coach. Bullying and thuggish behavior will win you fear amongst your team but no people who will want to play for you. The respect that i had for the man has been totally lost as he goes gun totting and on another wasteful Chimurenga that will see us lose some of the best talent that is maturing slowly fro, boys into men which i would classify as a national disaster and regress the small steps that we have taken to returning to mainstream international cricket.

Quit being hysterical! There is no impending disaster with Mangongo at the helm. You said it yourself that you don't doubt his results. His heavy-handed approach is what got those boys there, so other inferior coaches could take turns stagnating them. It's now time for him to help them progress from where he he left them without interruption. it's worked before, it will work again, except now, it will be right at the top where it counts!

If he was in solely charge of Vitori, the young man probably wouldn't lack stamina, and that enormous talent wouldn't have been allowed to whither so quickly. his attitude is what the guys need. His harsh words in the media are what gave the likes of Regis & Matsi a wakeup call. His protégés always say they owe their success to Mangongo. Give him a break. The only way Zim cricket is going is up. :D

If grant has been doing that BT, and you still can't bat up top without being a shadow of yourself, and you in your right mind don't think we can find someone who can perform the role better, then we definitely need someone better, and a smarter captain! :?
