What an innings by Taylor! And Cremer was superb too... this is exactly the sort of batsman I expect Cremer to be at Test level, someone who can make a contribution but more important be part of a partnership with a specialist batsman. But Taylor, a record breaking innings. And it came at the perfect time as well.

It would be nice to nip out another wicket before stumps. I think Jarvis should get two overs more before the end of the day.

Foreignfield are you Luke?

Lovely to see Dr Situ giving the reckless deshi batsmen whatfor with his comments. Brings me back to the halcyon days of the Doc on cricinfo, he always had a question for Sir John Ward!

Nope, but let's not turn this into a quiz. ;)

End of play 95/1

Shame that we could not take the three wickets we needed in that final session to be on top, I would say the match is morealess even at the moment after a couple of days.

Big first session tomorrow morning, we need to strike in the first hour or we could be a fair way behind the 8 ball.

I feel Zimbabwe will be even thinner with their bowling resources than we were. Only Jarvis and Shingi look like picking wickets. Meth looks impotent, and Cremer while talented, does not have form on his side. That leaves Chigs who will need batsman to throw their wickets away. No part timers in the squad either.

And well done to Taylor on bringing up 1000 Test runs. In that innings he has also overtaken Hamilton Masakadza as the leading Test run scorer among Zimbabweans still playing Test cricket, and I think only trails Murray Goodwin among Zimbabweans still playing at First Class level.
