I go out for a few hours, expecting to come back and see the game still well and truly continuing... and I see Chigumbura has a 5-fer and SAC XI were bowled out for 98! Good to see Mpofu and Pricey get a few wickets too.

Great come from behind win. Must have been a shocking pitch for such low scores. In fact, I found a picture of Boland Park: Image

I do hope it was a bad pitch but even if it was, top teams wouldnt have got 89 against a south African 4th team equiilent.

Shows that Zimbabwe still have so much work to do and the apparant racial selection doesnt really help their cause at all.

i just hope Streaks suprise return for the Pakistan series doesnt boil things over.

Apparantly, heard it on a radio station this morning.

They were taking about the 3 - 8 quota, which in my opinion is pathetic. The administarion need to relise that maybe the white players are just more skilled than the upcoming black players. This is what their debate was about this morning. i cant quite believe the administration have the balls to keep doing what their doing. They are already in enough trouble as it is. It was said though that alot of the white players were returning because Chingoka and co are finaly relenting to their demands, probably because they werent making enough money with a failing side and dfinally came to their senses......either way they are corrupter than a nigerian oil magnate...

it was on the side of the white players. 95% of all zimbabweans black or white like myself want to see the best zimbabwean side on the field, regardless of race, coulor religion or anything else that could come into play.

its absolute nonsence to think a quota system would work, but the ZCU side was to fied a mainly black side to get away from the fact Zimbabwe was once a colony. It is very sad to hear this as this now confirms that ZCU are in direct contact with mugabes regemes.

So once chingoka and co are out of office, we should see a mass injection of top overseas zimbabweansback in the side the nation hopes.

When you have Streak, Price, Brent, Taylor and Williams all fighting for three places, well, that's just stupid - there is room for all of them in the first eleven.

1. V. Sibanda
2. B. Taylor
3. T. Taibu (wk)
4. S. Williams
5. C. Chibhabha
6. H. Masakadza
7. H. Streak
8. E. Chigumbura
9. P. Utseya (c)
10. G. Brent
11. R. Price

That should be the apolitical eleven, IMO. Not exactly a bad batting lineup either, First Class centuries to each player.

great win for zimbabwe chimgumbura bowled well 5/33
i wonder who said that it is impossible to win a match with a score of 89 in the first innings :)

I'm glad they proved me wrong. Zimbabwe are on very thin ice, in that if they lose to a team like the SAC XI, it will give them a lot of negative publicity in the media. Even though they won, I bet we'll see some articles saying they should have won by more :o

Agreed, but i stil feel your underestimating Dabengwa. He has been the only consistent player on the zimbabwe side, and everyone straight away goes and drops him because he hasnt done anything majorly spectacular.
