Ireland's Victory
Re: Ireland's Victory
Thanks for the believing in the team guys. I don't think we will lose the Ireland game no not after our resent performances. Man for man we have the better team. Now we jus need to beat UAE and Ireland with a good net run rate we can make it to the quarters.

I think its more the fact that we always believe in the team, and especially when we are in good positions, we tend to mess up or throw things away, even make it harder for ourselves.tawac wrote:Thanks for the believing in the team guys. Ireland are not a bad team. They clearly are the best of the associates and have proven that before. We need to up our game. How we play against UAE will be a big test.

Hahaha I like it. So if we expect the worst then by some chance we will do our best. Hardly stuff of legends. The team is playing their best cricket in years. And Ireland are hardly in the big boy league. We got this.

And I'm sure that's what West Indies were thinking for most of their game. Anyone taking a result against Ireland for granted is being deeply stupid. And after the Ireland v Zimbabwe draw in the West Indies World Cup, we should know this.tawac wrote:Ireland are hardly in the big boy league. We got this.

Since 2007 Ireland have the tiniest advantage on win loss ratio over ZIM against top sides (0.136 to 0.135).

Same can be said of Zimbabwe. As for West Indies I think when they posted 300+ they thought they had won the game guess not. It's not about taking Ireland or any team for granted. Its about setting out a plan and seeing it though. Playing to win a game even with all the dynamics of cricket. If not why else would you need all those coaches, physios, analysts what have you. Our last 10 overs against SA went very badly we lost the plot completely. But we had it we were good enough playing against the best. If Ireland can top that, then yeah we are f $@!@d but I think not. Why play when you half expecting to lose. What harm is there in being positive. I will take a limb here, Ireland at best are at par with Zimbabwe not better. Zimbabwe wins!!! Good headline that.

Re: Ireland's Victory
I still think we are in the same situation. Ireland was always going to be a knockout game for us, we had to beat them, UAE and a big team. That is still the case. Who it was really bad for was the WI who may lose to the other three big teams and go out.

It will be interesting to see whether this match has any impact on the Windies ... they might actually get out of bed and turn up for their match with us.
Re: Ireland's Victory
The situation hasn't changed we still need to beat Ireland and another top ranked team ......
After how we played against RSA anything is possible, no point looking too far ahead first thing first let's beat UAE and beat them well ......

Re: Ireland's Victory
This. Ireland have poked the bear & given them a point to prove, which will make it harder for us when we have to face them. At least, that's the worry.foreignfield wrote:It will be interesting to see whether this match has any impact on the Windies ... they might actually get out of bed and turn up for their match with us.
