Re: Match Thread - Midwest Rhinos v Mountaineers
Mufudza bowled well in the trials for the T20WC too. There's another guy, Brighton Mugochi, a left-arm spinner. He has excellent stats, but I'm surprised he has only played one match for the A-team. This season, he hasn't played a single match. http://www.espncricinfo.com/zimbabwe/content/player/290...

Re: Zim U18s in SA
Some of the players who played last year (and are still eligible) are missing from this squad...
Last year most of the players were white, this time it's the other way round.

Re: Matsikenyeri in provisional world cup squad
Blessing Mavuta is the only leggie in the U17 squad

And there is also a chinaman bowler, Rugare Magarira
Did anyone else notice Edward Byrom is missing from the U17 squad?

Re: Match Thread - Tuskers v Eagles
Mupariwa should not be ignored by the selectors on his current form. Always seems to be picking up wickets with ease... I've noticed a lot of his dismissals are 'bowled' and 'lbw'. Has he increased his pace a bit (to early and mid-120s) or is it just that our batsmen are pathetic against the swingin...

Re: Zim fast bowlers for WC
That would actually be a pretty good bowling attack. All these bowlers have somewhat distinct "styles". But I never see that happening as long as Makoni and Mangongo are the selectors. Plus, that would mean our tail can also bat. As you said, Vitori will be the pinch hitter. And Mupariwa is no slouc...

Re: Matsikenyeri in provisional world cup squad
I agree. But as you mentioned, he wasn't selected for even a single match in Bangladesh. He's definitely become one of our best spinners, but fast-tracking him in the national side, that too in the WC on Aus/NZ pitches would do him little good. And yes, he did deserve a place in the 30-man provision...

Breaking News : Utseya cleared, but can't bowl offspin
Zimbabwe's Prosper Utseya can resume bowling in international cricket, but he still won't be allowed to bowl his offbreak. Utseya's slow and medium-paced deliveries were found to be legal by the ICC, but his offspin deliveries were still measured to be above the permissible limit. Utseya, who had g...

Re: Matsikenyeri in provisional world cup squad
Excluding Prosper (who will most probably not make it), there are only 3 spinners (including the non spinning Kamungozi :) ) in the squad of 30! Strange that Wellington who made the Bangla trip can't even find himself in the squad of 30. Munyede was a potential top 30 pick in my view too. Well, thi...
