Re: Dave Houghton appointed as ZC Coaching Manager

Remember at his county gig in UK he was not a coach rather he was a director of cricket meaning he was in charge of the whole set up including coaches. So he had Hammys role? So what is the point of Hammy if he is doing what Hammy is supposed to be doing? I'm not against the appointment or the idea...

Re: Zimbabwe domestic season 2021-22

The format which is actually dying but people haven't noticed yet is ODIs. T20s are a more action packed version of the format and the Super League has reduced the number of ODIs being played. Add regular T20 World Cups and the ability for small teams to win in that format and that's the end of ODIs...

Re: Dave Houghton appointed as ZC Coaching Manager

I don't think Hami was ready for the job they gave him and that's why this has happened. Hopefully he can focus on the administrative stuff for now and allow Houghton to do all the hard work. The coaching standard for me needs structure and hopefully this is what he is bringing to the table. You cou...

Re: Who's coming back for the upcoming domestic season?

Yes this is important. Franchise independence is key. If they can all get up to at least 100k a year that would make a huge difference for the guys who don't play for the national team. Streaming matches is key to this local growth too. Pitchvision is a step in the right direction. Add some commenta...

Re: Who's coming back for the upcoming domestic season?

I think the NPL is the only thing that makes sense because I don't think the COVID regulations will be that strict. I don't think you 100% need a bubble. Also I don't think it's possible to organize a bubble at schools when they are open which limits the amounts of options. If they want the Logan Cu...

Re: Nigeria u19

Ooh really? I thought I’d read it was in Q1 but that must have been from pre-pandemic maybe. There’s a few of our boys who will be ineligible then by the end of next year. The reason I doubt Q1 is because thats at most 5 months away and there seems to be no fixtures out. But cricket season in the C...

Re: Ireland and Scotland Tour reflection

Was thinking more about Marumani and found out he was our best performing batsman at the U19 world cup. In fact he was 4th overall on the runs list and he hit the second most sixes. Bawa was our next best performer and he was 6th on the list. For a team that finished 11th that is impressive He just ...

Re: Who's coming back for the upcoming domestic season?

Now this is the only place I could think of posting this because he kind of is a newcomer. Chivanga is 29 next year, is that not too old for a fast bowler who isn't the finished product yet? What on earth has he been doing for the past 10 years? Was he ever in the junior set up? I honestly dont know...

Re: The future of the coaching staff

You will never get a situation where all the kids explode at the same time. The big 4 themselves very rarely all performed well at the same time. Breaking 1 kid over maybe 2 or 3 tours is actually not a bad achievement if you are playing regularly. Now I would say 3 out of 5 newcomers have had their...
