That did look like a dirty wicket to bat on though. Really slow and difficult to play any real enterprising shots on, so I'm not overly concerned.

On these slow turning wickets he isn't going to score at more than a strike rate of 100 I don't think. Seam might be different but, against the spin, he's going to heavily rely on that sweep shot

Re: U19 World Cup Jan 2026 | Super 6 | Zim vs Bangladesh
Sorry wrong guy. Jeremy Ives was the lad I was thinking about.
Murray,
Snyder,
Mashinge (could have really been a good all rounder)
Ngarava
Matugimu
Wez
Adam Keefe
All very capable of playing FC and some international. Compared to this current squad, 11 years ago was a much stronger side

The 2016 squad was very talented.
Brendan Sly was a very good prospect and a highly respected left arm spinner

Re: U19 World Cup Jan 2026 | Super 6 | Zim vs Bangladesh
We're looking majorly out of our depth here. I've been really unimpressed. Yea Chiwala played some punchy shots but he was never lasting long with that technique. In fact, all the batters in this squad seem to have this same woodeny type technique, where its very proddy and weak with the bat movemen...

The two opening bowlers for Bangladesh have been absolutely unreal.

I don't think I've ever seen a bowler who quite blatantly throws it more than this kid. Wtaf
