Re: Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)

The only player Afghanistan were missing was Rashid Khan, so let's rephrase this "If Zimbabwe were full strength & Afghanistan had Rashid" Afghanistan are such a one man team it's not funny, but even on this deck I think Zimbabwe still win because of the assistance the seamers got, imagine if KJ & ...

^ Added benefit of my XI, is there's a lot of fluidity in that batting lineup. Chakabva can be moved up depending on match situation/need.

Re: Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)

Excellent win. I really thought this would be a close series even if both teams were at full strength, but that Afghanistan would probably win 2-0. That ZIM thrashed them sans BRMT and Ervine and KJ and Chatara bodes well. I suspect the boys are quite disappointed that playing so few Tests, when the...

Hats off to Sean Williams. Just a few years ago he was the white Hamilton Masakadza. But he's really upped his game of late. Complelely turned his legacy around.

Re: Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)

Chari is better than Prince if youre looking for a guy to graft and see off the new ball. Chari can at least put bad balls away. Zim will need at least a 75 run lead to feel safe. Afghanistan have to keep the lead under 50 and then try and set 200 which will be tough in the 4th innings. Still anyone...

Re: Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)

Btw, I am really liking this new Sean Williams. Massive respect for him. This is not an easy pitch to bat on judging from the scores, and these bowlers aren't scrubs either. Taylor, Ervine, and Williams with Raza, Madhevere, Burl would form a very solid lineup. The problem had always been that out o...

Re: Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)

Interesting side observation. Cricinfo now shows left arm leggies as "LWS" Left arm Wrist Spin, instead of "LHC" that they had earlir - Left hand "Chinaman"... Cross verified this on the profiles of Kuldeep and Shamsi too. And Prince has gone. If there was even a need for Chakabva to stand up as a ...

Re: Future tour rumours

Really hoping Zim can reschedule that series back here in Aus. There is no major issues as such. If the guys stay in quarantine before departing, then they would have to do a quarantine here, or depending on where they play, they may be able to move around a little more freely. Aus can't really use...

Re: Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)

Didn't think the game was starting so early. I was busy tabulating my stock performances for the day and figured I'd check in to see who won the toss or if the toss had already happened. Come in to see 15 overs already bowled and 4 wickets down. Afghan's can't bat for shit. Its criminal Bangladesh a...
