Re: 2nd Test | Zimbabwe V/s Pakistan | Harare

Fans will continue to talk about Ives, Evans, Keefe, Schadendorf, Roche, Matigimu, Muyeye but these players have no interest for Zim, they will just use Zim under 19 tag for their personal career making. How can they be stopped realistically? They will tell ZC that they are committed to Zim before ...

Re: 2nd Test | Zimbabwe V/s Pakistan | Harare

For last 5/6 years, plan of a Zim U19 talent has been to perform in school cricket, get selected for U19s, perform in U19 World Cup, get an offer from club cricket in UK or AUS and end career with Zimbabwe. ZC has no measure to stop this plan, they needs to rectify it and come with terms either pla...

Re: Spin bowling talents in Zimbabwe

Yeah, agree fellas. My main disappointment with Williams has been domestic. He ought to have played a lot more. Yes, lot of unnecessary run-ins with the system, breaking momentum, going away, coming back, of course also the system having run-ins with Williams, completely abandoned domestic seasons ...

Re: Spin bowling talents in Zimbabwe

Williams' 50s: Ban * 4, WI * 1, SA * 1, Pak * 2, Ken * 1 And I think I remember watching every one of those knocks except the Kenya one. Was a huge fan then and was certain that Sean was the heir apparent to Andy Flower. Specially those 50s he scored against Pak and another 48* in a single series -...

Re: Spin bowling talents in Zimbabwe

Absolutely. He's shown as much promise as Sean Williams did during the first 2 years of his international career This made me just dig up the stats to see how they compare, not a serious exercise but for fun. Sean debuted in Feb 2005 and Burl in Feb 2017. So, took the first 4 years of both players ...

Also remember Adam Keefe (is he still playing cricket?) and Jeremy Ives (who is surely still playing from what we read here recently?)

Re: Spin bowling talents in Zimbabwe

A poor man's Ryan Burl. :) that is some comparison! Burl himself belongs to a poor man :D By the way, you all slate Ryan Burl off for his batting but I'm telling you, he will come good and he will prove me right. We're lucky to have him Even if we keep that batting part aside, he appears to be the ...
