Zimbabweans at Lord's Cricket Ground
Did a tour of Lord's Cricket today - took photos of all the Zimbabwe-relevant stuff. https://scontent-lga3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/444488623_10164011664084196_4538795482880646110_n.jpg?stp=cp6_dst-jpg&_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=5f2048&_nc_ohc=XgX8DjrVGCIQ7kNvgGphant&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-2.xx&o...

Re: Ryan Higgins Turned Down Zimbabwe Approach
It always amazes me how backwards cricket is. Very few sports demand players play in their representative country in order to gain selection for the national team.

Re: 2004 Team v 2024 Team
Maruma has scored more runs in the Logan Cup than Bradman admittedly.

Re: Ryan Higgins Turned Down Zimbabwe Approach
Perhaps we could get the original Ryan Higgins back? He did once dismiss Brian Lara! https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/ryan-higgins-55518 If I have learned anything over my years of following Zimbabwean cricketers around the globe, it is never to ordain someone returning from England a saviour...

Re: 2004 Team v 2024 Team
It's probably better left unsaid but the other poor habit folk have about sportspeople is to not only pump up their sporting exploits, but to also canonise them in their personal capacities. Ali is a good example. I'm a big fan, especially his stance against the establishment, but a whoremonger and...

Re: 2004 Team v 2024 Team
This thread has reminded me how remarkable Jimmy Anderson is. The fact he is still steaming in after 20 years is astounding, fast bowlers typically have the shortest shelf life of cricketers.

Re: 2004 Team v 2024 Team
Before people started getting on the turps and claiming Maruma is superior to Bradman, the point of the original post was which scenario would you take? Where we were in 2004 or where we are now? To me, the answer is clear - 2004. We had BT, Taibu, Rainsford, Panyangara, and then Williams, Ervine, e...

Re: 2004 Team v 2024 Team
Jimmy Anderson is the one player who is still around now that was around 20 years ago - statistically he has got better over time. If a fast bowler can adapt to the current game at the age of 41 I'm pretty sure the greats of yesteryear could also.

Re: 2004 Team v 2024 Team
Next people will be claiming that Innocent Kaia is better than Andy Flower.
