Re: Dave Houghton appointed as ZC Coaching Manager

Remember at his county gig in UK he was not a coach rather he was a director of cricket meaning he was in charge of the whole set up including coaches. So he had Hammys role? So what is the point of Hammy if he is doing what Hammy is supposed to be doing? I'm not against the appointment or the idea...

Re: Who's coming back for the upcoming domestic season?

If the franchise system was run independently outside of ZC it perhaps would be easier. The problem is that we are talking about Zim. How do you regulate the five franchises and whether they are doing their job. Corruption is too rife in Zim and I would suspect that the ICC do not want too many dive...

Re: Dave Houghton appointed as ZC Coaching Manager

This is a great appointment, and it’s very different to Hamilton’s job. As a coaching director Houghton will be in charge of coaching the coaches, making them better coaches. This is a vital role, if Houghton can improve the standard of coaching in Zimbabwe this will in turn develop better crickete...

Re: Dave Houghton appointed as ZC Coaching Manager

No idea what this role is but it sounds like Rajput and co are still in charge which is absolute horse shit.

ZC always look like they are doing things but are never actually doing anything.

Re: Who's coming back for the upcoming domestic season?

I think the Eagles deal is $19k over two years. As for inviting other teams and countries, I think it depends on whether we can actually structure a proper season. We would be competing with the BBL, NZT20 and SAT20 in terms of timing, so you wouldn't even be able to attract a Lamichane or the Afgha...

Re: The future of the coaching staff

Neither. Just stating my opinion on the matter. Just saying that the cricketing part of the argument is identical here. If the ACB are to be suspended for the reasons cited on this board, then PCB also has to be suspended based on the allegations of the BCCI. In fact, the BCCI had tried to get the ...

Re: The future of the coaching staff

Not if the assumption is the same one used by BCCI vis a vis the PCB. They refuse to contribute money towards the PCB because of the PAK government's actions. And this is approved by the ICC. But if the PCB is separate from the government, then it's a moot point. If on the other hand the PCB and th...

Re: Who's coming back for the upcoming domestic season?

Zimbos_05 I think it was you who posted years ago that you used to be involved with Universal back in the day? You should see it now - a soccer pitch and some trashy wedding venue. Sad :( there’s a lot of places like that now. I might do a thread auditing all the current and former grounds to try a...

Re: Who's coming back for the upcoming domestic season?

I'm guessing HSC, OH, QSC and BAC will be used for the women's games (although BAC will need a lot of work before then) - and then possibly either Taka or Kwekwe as a fifth ground. I don't know what state Masvingo or Mutare are in or whether they are capable of being used for domestic cricket at th...

Re: The future of the coaching staff

A lot of unfair bashing of Andy here. Not here to defend or legitimise the Taliban, but none of us know the deal that Andy has struck. The ACB could be operating independently or any payment could be coming from a different source other than Afghanistan. Remember, the ACB board has been around befor...
