Re: The end near for Chingoka and Bvute?

If he goes, I'm worried about his replacement. I don't really think there is anyone experienced enough that could successfully replace him, bar Dave Ellman-Brown, who would be an unlikely replacement. Dave Everington is another possibility, having been vice president about 8 years ago IIRC, but aga...

Re: Match Thread - 2nd ODI - Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Largest paying crowd since the initial player dispute, apparently - around 4,000. The wins over Australia and West Indies aren't doing any harm to the side's popularity...

Zimbabwe Fantasy XI

This is sort-of a follow on from the recent debate over at zimcricketnews.com about who would make uk the best current Zim side. ZC have a "Hall of Fame" page on their website, but it simply lists everyone who's played for the national side since they got Test status. Putting all restrictions out of...

Re: Match Thread - 2nd ODI - Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Windies win by 110. Disappointing performance after the 1st ODI, but probably an inevitable result after Zim lost their early wickets, and more proof that Zim's batting is still in need of help. Key for the HSC pitch seems to be to bat first, then put the pressure on the opposition with your bowlers...

Re: Match Thread - 2nd ODI - Zimbabwe vs West Indies

Strange things happening with the CricInfo card - from 67/6 to 89/5, with last-man-out Matsikenyeri now on 17, and scoring quite well. Still needing 8+ an over, though.

Re: Match Thread - 2nd ODI - Zimbabwe vs West Indies

They were ticking over fine until they lost that brace of wickets - slowdown now is natural consolidation, but I don't think they really have the time to indulge in too much of that. The run-rate's going to be the killer - just as it was for WI on Friday...

Re: Match Thread - 2nd ODI - Zimbabwe vs West Indies

16.6 Bravo to Masakadza, OUT, Bravo strikes, short of a length delivery outside the off stump and moving away, Masakadza looks to drive through the off side, gets an outside edge through to Ramdin.

Re: Match Thread - 2nd ODI - Zimbabwe vs West Indies

See previous comments about Zim's flaky batting... :(

Still, there's some good batting yet to come, so all is not yet lost. Definitely going to be an uphill struggle from here, though - need to kep an eye on the run-rate, too...

9.5 Powell to Taylor, OUT, width outside the off stump, Taylor's eyes light up, he chases it, cuts and gets an outside edge through to Ramdin.
BRM Taylor c Ramdin b Powell 27
