Re: Sri Lanka in Bangladesh 2024
Disappointing loss here. I would say Bangladesh are the stronger side, but Sri Lanka are an improving side of course and they've closed much of the gap with us the past couple of years. All to play for in the final game. Nissanka is a real gem for SL. Kusal Mendis is just too inconsistent, but he's ...

Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc
Ya I do, respectfully, strongly disagree Sam. 'Gatekeeping', 'Status', etc - it's all dated imperialist bollocks. No other global-level sport has such pointless concepts as 'status'. How about creating a new status for the top 30-40 T20 nations, then? Perhaps something like ET20 for Elite T20 or pe...

Re: Sri Lanka in Bangladesh 2024
SL have decided to bowl first given the dew factor in the first game. Bangladesh getting 286...similar innings trajectory as SL in the first game, but they finish with 30 runs more. Even stevens I'd say, perhaps Bangladesh with a slight advantage at the halfway stage. Seamers will be key once again....

Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc
Whether you rate it or not, whether we like it or not. T20 is the only future of the game. The more inclusive, the better. Inclusivity is bad for the BCCI and their control of the game. There is very little justification to give Vietnam the same status in any format of the game as New Zealand. Havi...

Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc
On second thought you guys are kinda right. I don’t really rate the T20I format apart from it being somewhat entertaining. But to me it’s not really *cricket*, so what if Nepal holds a world record? As long as they continue to preserve the sanctity of ODIs and Tests, we’re good. 20 teams have ODI st...

Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc
The ICC made a mistake by giving everyone T20I status in my not so humble opinion. I am for expanding the game, but they should have kept T20I status for perhaps the top 30-40 sides. And or give to everyone but don’t recognize Asian Games, Africa Games, or the Olympics as T20I. One of the consequenc...

Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc
The Africa Men's games are proper T20 internationals. Which means we will see a lot of international debutants for Zim and esp RSA. Also gives more meaning to the Women team that has won Gold. Lot's to play for then, and I would have liked a stronger men's team. I wouldn't call those "proper" inter...

Re: Sri Lanka in Bangladesh 2024
Sri Lanka went from 71-1 in the first 10 overs to just 255. A very low target in the modern game. Terrific bowling from young Tanzim to set up the eventual collapse. Bangladesh were struggling in the chase at 23-3, before the young gun (Shanto) and old gun (Mushy) got to together for an unbeaten 165...

Sri Lanka in Bangladesh 2024
Sri Lanka win the T20 series 2-1. Quite a bit of heat between both teams in that series. The rivalry has really gotten spicy since 2018.
ODIs start in about 30 mins. I really hope Tanzid Hasan Tamim is in the XI. He's better than both Liton Das and Soumya Sarker IMO.
