Re: Zimbabwe Vs Sri Lanka| 2nd T20 |16 Jan 2024
From 27-4 after 5 overs.....to 173-6 after 20.   Sadly.... beyond the worst imagination. This team can hardly chase 140 runs. Now it's 173. Luke Jongwe is a player that I really don't understand: too many ups and downs. I really don't know what is his real value. This time I quote m...

Re: Excessive injuries onfield
Yes I agree: Zimbabwe is never able to deploy its best 11 because there is always someone who is injured.
Several months ago there was a promising bowler, B. Evans, any news about his fitness?

Re: Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka. 2nd ODI. 8th Jan 2024
Today the glass is half full. I'm glad of the performance: very, very close to an unexpected win in Sri Lanka is something good. My regret: Blessing and Ngarava are consistently blowling at over 80 mph. I'm sure there could be many like them in grassroot Zimbabwe: give local kids bats and tapeballs....

Re: Houghton Resigns (Confirmed by ZC)
End of an era anyway. We've had a horrid 2023 but 2022 was fantastic and he gave us some of the best moments we've had in decades. Beating Bangladesh, beating Pakistan, beating Australia in Australia, qualifying for the T20WC and then getting into the second round. Can't forget those great moments ...

Re: Names of the Zimbabwe Cricket Board
The 2022-23 annual report including the audited accounts were available on the website recently but I've just checked and they appear to have removed it. If it is public information and somone has an older annual report to upload, it would be an interesting strat (at least for an ousider like me) t...

Re: Where to from here?
The ace Zimbabwe still have up their sleeve they can play is a diaspora and money. Schadendorf, Byrom, Myers, Cartwright and Goodwin are still out there and eligible. There needs to be an effort to get a few of those back. Goodwin would be a dream but I think he’s headed for the baggy green when a ...

Re: Rwanda v Zimbabwe | ICC T20 Qualifier | 27 November 2023
Andrea, you suggest we are at risk of losing our funding. I think that’s highly unlikely. We have been shite for twenty years and the ICC still chuck money at us. We are, thankfully, in the extremely privileged position of being inside the tent pissing out. Uganda or even Italy could beat us 50 tim...
