Service providers are being paid and there are genuine efforts to get the games going. The blessings of rain we have received have prevented games being fulfilled. The blessed rains are beyond ZC's control we all need to be understanding and use reason before quickly judging ZC. There are indeed people who want to run cricket the right way and if your not in the mix in your own little way you wont realize the reality on the ground considering cash shortages, a faultering economy , political circus and huge potholes. Indeed let's be positive. But....gargamel wrote:Yes the ICC official was in Harare last week and met with the MD and National coach. I dont think there is any hoodwinking that went on. The rains have only impacted the recent fixtures, a timeous intervention.
It seems obvious that the ICC were either withholding money or threatening action pending some satisfactory answers regarding the finances. I'm assuming after the last Board meeting where the audit report had been forged that they had not forwarded this report to the ICC, which is an annual requirement. There must have been some frantic artistic accounting going on these last few months to merge a vanished five million into local expenses!
I'd like to see the provincial and ZPL accounts because they must have had to pump those expenses through the roof!
I would guess he sat with the auditors (if they're still the same ones they lack integrity), listened briefly to the MD, then had a beer with Streak. If he's gone back satisfied with the explanations then I just don't know.
