Afghans touring Zim in Feb?
Twitter abuzz with Afghan development team touring Zim in Feb. They have announced a training squad too. Also a possibility of 5 match ODI series with Afghanistan in the same month. This news not yet confirmed. Obviously we'll not hear anything from ZC, so we need to keep track of Afghan announcements.

Of course if ZC can't sort out paying their players, it'll be Afghan Development v Afghanistan at HSC...

With the Afghan A team series slated from 27th Jan and a few exciting young prospects selected for Zim A, what are the chances of rain staying away from this? How is the Kwe Kwe ground curretnyl and would the series go ahead as planned without weather interventions? What do the locals think? Midwest Rhinos, gargamel, Googly?

We've known that they want to use KKSC for this tour for a little while. ZC guys are supposed to be coming to see the ground today to have a look. It's supposed to start in about a week and we still aren't sure if they definitely want to use it. They've got their work cut out, the ground is fine but the changing rooms, office, scorers box are all in a state of disrepair. We've had a load of rain the last couple of weeks and it doesn't seem as if it's going to go away anytime soon, but that's not just Kwekwe. Drainage is good at KSSC and if it stops raining now then we'd be able to play but I'm not convinced it will go uninterrupted.
It's a pity because we've been looking forward to this. We've got a great ground and it's a great place to watch cricket. It has a great history of having touring sides come and we desperately want that to continue. We may never get another ODI but List A and FC will suffice at our little country ground.
Not looking good...

Ah the weather looks ugly. We had a good set of youngsters taking part that made it a series to look forward to. Forecast not looking good, but hope this goes ahead somehow, miraculously.
