The thing with hosting these games is there's a huge out lay to put the game on with the hope of bringing in more cash, in comparison with hosting a park game as Dogg has pointed out doesn't cost that much.
Ireland are fucked though if they can't make a profit from hosting England, as I pointed out there clearly is no great interest in the sport over there. Once again the ICC have shot themselves in the foot with their 10-team WC, they've just made Ireland a full member which means they'll have to commit a lot more money to them, this would have been the perfect chance to try and make a mark in Ireland letting them host some games in this WC.
Missed opportunity

Good to see the tour going ahead. I hope rain doesn't play spoil sport as it normally does in Ireland and Scotland.
I would love too see the ICC going back to 1999/2003 format. 14 teams in 2 groups followed by super 6s.
It means No team just wins 2 games and makes it to quarters, it gives importance and meaning to every match played and gives us more teams at the WC, which is how it should be.

The internet scam which afflicted the Ireland cricket board has been leaked. It all originated from an e-mail sent to the president of the Ireland cricket board:
Dear Mr. Sir,
REQUEST FOR URGENT ASSISTANCE-STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL
I am MRS. Bakare Masvaure from the Republic of Zimbabwe, the cousin of PRINCE Spencer Masvaure, grand-patron of the Takashinga Initative. I got your contact through LinkedIn on line from Zimbabwe Information Exchange (ZIE), during the process of searching for a reliable BUSINESS PARTNER to help my family with Cash worth of US$25.5 MILLION (TWENTY FIVE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND UNITED STATES DOLLARS)
This money is owned by creditors in exchange for the purchase of cricket bats from South Africa, for the ZIMBABWE PEOPLE'S LIBERATION MOVEMENT (ZPLM) Military Wing Sports Club, before the unpleasant Bond note (RTGS) situation in my country made it difficult to access. As the news of the peace agreement between ZPLM Military Wing Sports Club and Harare Sports Club was reached, he took advantage of the opportunity and deposited the Cash with a security company name withheld for security reasons, I will furnish you with all details as soon as the transaction commences.
If you agree to assist my organisation by investing this money into a profitable business venture in your country or any other country of your choice; I shall give you 20% of the total amount, 5% will be set aside to offset all expenses incurred in the course of this transaction and the remaining 75% will be for my family’s investment in your country. If you accept to partnership with us, please indicate your interest by contacting my only son in Zimbabwe via the details below.
Although I am not feeling too well as at this moment and please also provide him with your Personal Profile & private telephone and mobile numbers for easier communication, and he will give you a comprehensive detail on how this transaction would be accomplished without any hitch. Now that the Logan Cup has ended, we will be pleased to invest this money in your Country, with your help.
Thanks in anticipation to your co-operation.
Yours Truly,
MRS. Bakare Masvaure
(FOR THE FAMILY)

Yeah that was a Clanger. Two games in Dublin would have gone a long distance even. ICC aren’t good at developing the international game.
I kid you it, I know a country that faked a cricket league to get funding from the ICC and it worked! It funded a world tour of 11 mates. That’s how sharp the ICC is.
